I lost the most ive ever lost in 1 night.. I will be re-cooping for a few days trying to grab ahold of whatever cash i have so i can start making my money back.. Seems my bookie will not allow me to make any more bets until i have paid him what i owe him after last nights huge loss. I dont know much about hockey and i was talking to a buddy of mine before your picks came out and i was against everyone of your games and was vey nervous about your card for thursday however i know your pure money gigi and i went with you. hahah .. i was thinkin the same .. it reminds me of paco's baseball thread that went through a period of bad hibby jibby vibes that sent plays going the wrong way .. but that is all superstition ................................ or is it?

I am a n00b to sportsbetting and hockey for that matter but I play poker somewhat seriously and I learned about variance via poker. Variance at poker can be brutal as you can have 50k-75k breakeven stretches where you are basically a rakeback whore. That being said, I realize that sportsbetting has variance and thus you need to really be bankroll careful! Last night, I lost my ass but in relation to my bankroll--it was not that much. So I will continue to follow gigicash!

Also, if you go to wunderdogs website and look at his 2009 hockey season graph you will see how he had one heck of a losing streak but by seasons end was up HUGE.

Therefore, follow sound bankroll management and the gigicash will follow!!!

Buffalo is favored cause they are 5-1-1 at home against Montreal last 7 home games. Also Montreal scored one goal in the last 2 games they played recently. I'm just stating the reasons why the oddsmaker made bufallo a favorite.

well said boondoggle, there is no reason people should be blowing up their account or going in debut over one night or even a few nights of losses.

I am new to sports betting as well, but I am in the stock/currency trading business and fully understand risk vs. reward and preserving capital.

Sorry for the noob question but what do most people play as 1 unit vs. their bankroll?

Me personally I bet .5% of my account for every unit gigi plays, since so far his largest play (that I have seen ) is 10u and I am only comfortable placing 5% of my account at risk on any given play.

So even if you were betting 1% of your account for every unit gigi plays you would only be down 20% last night. Still a lot but no where near broke and you're still in the game to fight another day.

Just my two cents, but I do have the feeling I am way more conservative that most.

I know, it looks like a strong under.. but I don't think this game will go into OT even though everything points to it, - I like Washington to win this one in regulation. BOS is also playing on Sat. @home v the Blues - and I hope they get some points there.
