Chicago Black Hawks/Colorado Avalanche OVER 5.5 (2 units) Black Hawks want to prove they can re peat and they are still the same team as last season, expect 3-4 goals from them easily. As for the Avs expect 2-3 goals from them, I am still not convinced Turco is what every thinks he is. If Niemi was in net for this game for the Black Hawks, I would not be touching the over, I would be betting the Black Hawks moneyline.

Even though these aren't your father's NJDevils, beating Brodeur at home is still saying something. I really think the Stars can be a playoff team if Lehtonen plays 60 games or more. Stars are solid, then again keep in mind Brodeur is not what he used to be, he looks like an average human being anymore. With that being said I was kinda shocked the Stars won, but not entirely.

Last time I checked....getting outshot isn't reflected in the win/loss column. The Stars were in the 2nd night of a back-to-back East Coast road trip. On top of that, it was each of their opponents HOME OPENER! You could obviously tell the Stars were out of energy by the 3rd period. Robidas is one of the least penalized d-men in the game....and he gets 2 consecutive delay of game penalties at the end of the 3rd. I'll readily admit the Stars were fortunate to leave with a win, but the Isles had everything in their favor (home opener, tired opponent, etc) and still lost the game. At the end of the day, 2 points is 2 points....regardless of the stat sheet.

This is why I keep saying the NHL needs to start using the olympic sized rinks, these OT and shootouts are getting old, every game now a days are either OT or shootouts. This is not what the NHL is about.

If not olympic sized rinks, then they need slightly bigger nets OR small goalie pads. OR put a cap size on how big a goalie is allowed to be, kind of how there is a maximum size for sticks.
