DG's 2010-2011 NHL Thread

I see everyone starting to lean Chicago -- just a word of advice, my experience is that HSBC has always been one of the toughest places to play in the entire league, and after that egg they laid on Saturday night in the home opener vs. the Rangers, I'm expecting 120% effort from Lindy Ruff's boys tonight.

Just my opinion -- good luck on whatever you play...

the Rangers can suck it. I was worried about that play because the Isles always seem to rally in this annual Columbus Day matinee. Shoulda known better.

These game was unf..kingreal!! I had under 2,5 for 3rd period and in like 5mins the bubble burst and there were 3 goals. What is (king?!) henrik doing? terrible performance

Not that I'm letting the Rangers off the hook completely for blowing that game, but they were getting hosed by the refs. On two successive odd-man rushes, Christiansen and then Callahan got HACKED by Islander defensemen and there was no call on either. Both guys were hurt on the respective plays - Christiansen even had to leave the ice. About 5 mins after that, the refs call back-to-back minors on the Rangers, giving the Isles a 5-on-3 (they tied the game) and momentum.

Since the lockout, officiating in this league is about as consistent as the stock market. And don't even get me started on the VOLUME of penalties in the post-lockout era. Half the fvcking game is played on special teams nowadays. Bullsh*t.

I'm glad I laid off the Rangers I just had a bad feeling the Isles would take it. My condolences to those on them that was sick

Agreed about way too many penalties and the inconsistency of calls. Most refs I find usually always favor the home teams.

xraygord, it's a safe assumption you're a Sens fan? What's your outlook for the season? Are they gonna get that goaltending situation straightened out any time soon? I've never been a fan of either of those guys.

My local has already moved it from -120 to -125. My theory is and always has been, don't bet on teams because they're "due". It doesn't matter how good a team is on paper, it's how they're playing, and right now, it looks like Chicago has Lord Stanley's hangover. I feel like a lot of posts I'm reading are leaning Chicago just because they haven't won a game yet. But I just don't see HSBC with an angry Sabres team and Ryan Miller as the best spot for them to get off the schneid. And Corey Crawford is starting for the Hawks.(maybe that's acutally a good thing for them?)

I'm playing BUF and Under 5.5 in this game.

Dude, I had in CFB yesterday Miami(ohio) Cin total OVER 50.5. They got 48 in the first half, and not a single point in the second half. Don't feel bad.

Not a die hard fan, the avatar will be changed once Winnipeg gets a team. I'm not exspecting alot out of Ottawa this year, they could still use a better goalie.

I don't think the Sens are as strong offensively as many people have come to think heading into this year, even witrh the addition of Gonchar.
