DG. I would look at team totals for one team, and totals for both teams rather than 1st period. The 1st period totals can hurt you because you don't have the benefit of depending on something happening later on. In team totals you can pick for example the sharks to go over 3.5 at -107, they can be in a 1-1 game after 2 periods and it might look like it's over, but you could see a 3rd period go back and fourth. They can score 2 goals to take the lead, than the other team tying it. 3-3 going into O.T. All you need is the sharks to win and you beat the team total. Also say the total is 2 and you pick over for that team, as soon as your team scores 1 goal, a push at the very least is really likely. I do think 1st period plays do have some value on some nights, but you need to decide when that is and not force it. Good luck, hope things turn around.

Why is Anh only -120. I know they are playing back to back games but still not giving them much credit. Dailyfaceoff is showing hiller as the more probable starter so i dont think its because of goaltending. DP has given up something like 14 goals in his last 3 games. Also, the travel from WAS to NY isnt bad. Any thoughts?

someone pointed out a stat a couple pages ago and there was a huge reverse in overs to unders in the first period since the middle of november or so. seems to still be hot. i hate rooting for under 2 goals in 20 min. though with two teams that *always* play fast and score

Occasionally. They seem to have much better results though. If I start betting them again I'll be doing a lot more unders.

Looks like McElhinney will be starting for the Ducks. Obviously it would be better if Hiller was in but McElhinney isn't too bad. Ducks should still win.

Ducks PL at +230 on BetUS. I'm very tempted to take this but my only worry is the Ducks play down to the Isles after beating the Caps last night. Thoughts anyone? I'd love to be talked into it.

I know what ur saying stevie. I am on the ducks tonight ML but being an islander fan i know that every couple of games (sometimes it takes 14) they are do for a good high scoring win. Just betting that this isnt the game. GL.

Ottawa goaltending is scrap. When they are on fire they score so this will be a minimum push in my opinion
