DG, those 1st Period Overs can be a killer. I was on it as well, but after watching the period and clearly seeing it probably should have went over I made a 1st Intermission bet. I got the total at 5.5 on plus money and ended up making any losses back. I am not sure if you are into the live betting all that much, but it can be profitable in the right situations.

What book has live betting for the NHL?

Yeah about the live betting I did it in the playoffs and it worked pretty well for me. I may start doing this again especially Caps games as they usually hit 2nd and 3rd period overs.

Bookmaker has live totals at the intermissions but they are usually like -180 to -200 range so chasing can get expensive. Plus I would hate to post these plays when most of you can't follow anyways.

Pinny doesn't have period totals but live game totals after each period which can be good too.

betfair does. however you won't get great value as of course it's individuals such as ourselves who are laying the bets.

DG, what do you think of the Pens/TB over?

As a pens fan, i might be a little bias on this, so i wanted to see what you thought.

Right now, our D is playing pathetic. Martin is playing ok, but as a unit, we are just sucking right now. Fleury cant save shit, and Johnson has had his luck run out IMO. But the Pens can still score with anyone. I see a big night of offense tonight, just like the TB/WASH game...thoughts?

And a ridiculous stat of the day on Fleury...he has allowed a goal on the first or second shot in 8 of his last 21 starts. Sick.

Just to warn everyone I will be implementing a semi-chase period totals system at some point. For example if the Caps first period over doesn't hit I will make a live bet either on the game total or the 2nd and 3rd period total. If the play hits I won't be doing this but I will prewarn you guys when I plan on doing this just so you all have a heads up in advance.

I'm not a big fan of chasing in general but don't worry I don't plan on making this too regular of an occurance

It's still pretty new to me picking dogs as well as I barely did at all last year. Mostly I just go with my instincts on dogs. The Avs were 5-0 in the last 5 meetings vs the Jackets so that helped me take a shot. Also the Avs are the superior team on paper so I liked the value.
