I disagree. I said it at the beginning of this series and in this thread. The Devils are not a good team. If it weren't for the fantastic first half, they wouldn't have won the division. In fact, the only reason they even took the Atlantic was because the Penguins limped down the stretch.

The playoffs are supposed to ratchet UP your play, not the other way around. Instead of that, the Flyers shit all over them, doing whatever they wanted up and down the ice.

Lou Lamoriello did not put together a good team. He needs to gut it.

Boucher 28 shots 28 saves..........they hit a bunch of posts. NJ wasnt in total control like i thought they would be but again 3-0 doesnt tell the story at all. Philly got so many lucky bounces this series and i agree with tj the Devils are overrated (especially the D) but philly is trash and they will get ass-mastered by the Caps next round and i cant wait to see it

you did mean what you said and it was stupid logic..............other than that i love the ppl in this thread who are saying that Philly will adjust or "step up" without these two all-stars. they wont. unless the devils take a bunch of penalties (like 6) then Philly will be toast this game. plus these 2 are mainstays on special teams which will cause more line shuffling...........this is like TB suddenly losing stamkos/stlouis or chicago losing Toews/Madden or Buffalo Roy/Vanek.......its very big.

and Jeff Carter came into the series with a broken foot already, and was very quiet the first 3 games.

Definitely some good information and plenty of reasons why the Devils will win this Game.
There is a Theory I have (The Opposite of the Obvious) over the years when I see games like this where it is so obvious that the Devils should Win, go the other way. Since I posted this it will probably be the 1st time it doesn't work. I've tried ignoring cases like this before but the opposite of the obvious Theory has been tested and approved. We Shall See! i did play a line for this game on NJ, it was +2050 to win the East at 5dimes. so suck it. and i bet 1350 sbr points on NJ so why would i bet cash on the game as well. i know what type of gambler you are..........ur the guy who hates the idea that other ppl can bet more than $25 a game like you do

Absurd. Of course they were a good team. They were one of the top three teams in the East this season.

They had a bad series against a team they matched up badly against. Had they drawn Montreal (could've easily happened, considering Philly didn't even get in until the final day), they would've advanced to at least the second round.

As for Philly, their regular season did not reflect their talent level. They would've had upside here, as Washington is notorious like San Jose for early playoffs exists, but it looks like Carter and Gagne will miss the second round.

Washington will take the series. Sad that Washington gets such a cakewalk to the East finals.

If Kovalchuk stays, that'd be nice but I severely doubt it. Los Angeles will want him and the rangers will exercise buyouts on every crappy contract they have. Toronto will be in the mix because we know Burke will probably try something since he has no problem with spending right to the cap and worrying about problems later on (or leaving).

seems to be a growing population of these types around here. good thing they're easy to spot. dropping the "L" word like its nothing is red flag #1 going against the flyers sealed the deal in this case

juice yes, but less juice than it should have been. there was a far greater chance that this would win compared to the ML (~155) of a 3-pt NBA favorite...........both these teams have had plenty of high quality scoring chances each game. goaltending has been great but buffalos defense cheats way up in the zone and neither team wants to slow this series down. Each game has a better chance of 7 goals than 3
