The sleeping giant has awoken, and it all it took was a fluke loss to the Americans. If you were watching last night, you would have thought Canada was playing a high school team how they dominated in every aspect (skill, speed, physicality, passion).

My only worry is goaltending. Luongo did enough to win, but he still looked a little shaky in the process, looking behind him on a few occasions!

Yep, I watched the game and I am still in shock by such a domination but I fell asleep in the middle of the 3rd period because of the lack of suspense for the result and I was too tired (the game started at 1.30 am here).

However, I wouldn't call the Americans win vs Canada a fluke. Yes they were clearly dominated by Canada, but Canada let them have quality scoring chances, they scored on them and they got a great performance by their goaltender. But I think if Canada plays against the Americans in the final they won't repeat those same mistakes they made, so there is 0 chance I bet against Canada a 2nd time with you !

Hey swiss8, I'd be proud of the way Switzerland played, I would have to say they were the most pleasant surprise in the entire field. They played the USA tight twice, and nearly beat Canada, and had wins over Norway and Belarus. No medal, but I would certaintly say a successful showing.

I agree with you denn333....but if they continue with this offensive onslaught, they can afford to slack a bit on the defensive side.
Last night Canada scored 7, and that easily could have been 10. The Russia goalies did make some big time saves, when I was already off my seat getting ready to celebrate.
