Well, last night didn't work out quite as well as I would have liked, but a split is better than 2 losses. Does anyone see anything of interest tonite? Ottawa looks like a decent price at -140 at home against Calgary. They are 9-1 in their past 10 games. The problem is that I do not like taking favorites. Maybe a pass tonite. I'll just have to see.

Read my post in your thread. There is money to be made if you use some common sense. The key for me is avoiding the favorites. All I expected to do record wise was to break even. I still may fall to that. But if you take the odds, you can still finish ahead. Home Ice is a big advantage, and when you can get odds on a good team at home, it is a big plus. I normally avoid the total, which is normally over or under 5.5.Comment -
I support you 100, no 1000% on that. Predicting favs is unwise as you gotta hit 70 or more % to be in plus at all, so why do people bet on them? Good job, as a former prochess player I have experienced a fair conclusion: if you did that sport in the past, you most likely make a good profit when betting on it. I bet chess live sometimes, when I see the game, and that's very easy.
So don't put your hands down BigDaddy, Dogs are the only way to bankrupt the bookie(if that's actually possible at all)

I disagree. You'd have to lay money every time on the Caps over the last, well, probably EVERY game, but you'd be up 12+units their last 14 games or whatever (not to mention betting the TT Over). Same thing with going against the Oil. I mean, there's $ to be made betting favs. You can't just fire on every fav obviously, but to totally dismiss a team because they're favored-- that's just assinine to me.Comment -

Well, we pulled out a wild one last night. Tonight looks muchmore difficult. Phoenix got a look, but a pass. I realy do not see anything I like, so I will pass on tonite's action. As far as my wagering tactics are concerned, I am not saying that you can not make money of fav's. All I am saying is that it is easier to make money on good dogs, especially home dogs. By playing the dogs, instead of the favorites, I have done well. If I were to lose 5 games in a row, and go to 11-11, I still would be up over 200.

We are back after the Olympic break. Now the question becomes which teams benefitted by the break, and which teams did not? The good news is that no one got hurt in the Olympics. It looks like Tampa Bay is going to be the only home team that will be in the plus column with the odds, so I am looking at that game now. I just dabble in it. I am certainly no expert. Like I said, I basically look for good dogs to play. Last night was ugly in the 3rd period. Outscored 5-0. Tonight, it is Miller time in Buffalo. Buffalo +125 is the play. Washington will cruise through the rest of the regular season. Buffalo is in a great spot to win the Northeast Division, 1 point behind Ottawa but having 3 games in hand. This is one of those games.
