Salami is hard to bet when there are so many teams on. Much greater chance there will be a blowout or two. Last night's was much easier with a smaller pool of teams to consider. Played the under last night and won, undecided as to whether I'll be playing it this eve...

I keep track of the GS on a daily basis. Over the last six nights it's been five unders and a push, the longest streak of the season without an over.

I've bet the Grand Salami consistently for the last 3 years. If handicapped properly you can find a consistent edge in this bet. It's not something you can bet everyday though.

I've always thought that if you looked at a night's card and you found an unbalanced number of very defensive-minded teams or teams that were high-scoring, you could play this with some success. But I've never delved into it to that degree.

great feedback
i won on the under last night
so that means i have four cents now ( 3.8 cents )
tonights board seems to have all favoured teams on it
which makes the over look good to me
but i tend to be a bit of a pessimist
so i would rather bet on the under
2 of my 4 is going on the under again

Yeah, I'm looking at the under for today. With a GS of 29.5, goals per game would have to average 5.9 - and I don't know but I can only see PIT/CHI and MTL/PHI going over.

Heh, sry at work all day. Not lookin too hot this eve, I had taken under on NJ/FLA as brodeur was coming off teh SO, and FLA had multiple shutouts in the last 3 weeks, but than didnt pan out so well...

Leaning on the over for the Salami today, at +28.0, that's looking at an avg of 4.7 per game for the 6 games playing this eve. PHI/NJ is a toss up as Briere is back for Philly, but Brodeur is back playing at home, CLS/VAN is also due to the Mason factor =) I can see PIT/DAL, LA/CHI, FLA/WAS and TB/CAL going over this eve, so the Salami over is looking good to me =)

Hmmm.... I'm thinking over on this one tonight. Both are in bottom 3 in goals against, Colorado has been ok at putting up goals, and having Stastny back with a few days off to stew about their latest shutout in NJ, I'm thinking they will be coming out hard tonight.

So, Salami tonight fellas? I'm seeing the line at 71. For 12 games, that averages out to 5.9 per game. Of the games on tonight, I'm thinking the overs will include: PHI/BOS, CAR/WAS, FLA/ATL, CAL/OTT, PIT/TB and possibly ANH/CHI. That puts us at a generous 1/2 games over, 1/2 under. However I don't think that the games going over will be high enough to cover the remainder of games. So for myself tonight, I'm going under.

Well, we'll see what happens

Whiplash, i'm not sure where you get your Salami numbers from. A couple days now you've posted the incorrect number. (Sunday you had it at 28, with the true number at 34.5) Tonights number is either 69.5 or 70 depending on the book. What book do you take your numbers from?

At this point i don't see value either way, but good luck to you guys who do.

Hmmmm... well that'll avg out to 5.8 per game. Overs tonight look like PHO/BOS, CAL/PHI, TOR/WAS, EDM/OTT, PIT/FLA. MIN/SJ should be very low scoring. Let's say each of the overs above will score 7, that'll be 35 of the 52. Therefore 17 would have to be spread between NYR/NYI, CLS/NAS, DAL/LA, and MIN/SJ. Even if all the overs score 7, I don't think the remaining 4 games could cover the remaining 17 goals.

Well, all that long-winded story to give you my answer, UNDER for this eve =)
