New York Islanders ML @ +116 Pinnacle 4/10
Too much love for Bruins. Sure the numbers are looking favorable for Boston but Islanders have been an offensive machine lately and Bruins are going with Johnson which should put more weight on the defense. If Islanders can hold their game together in their defense, I think they will win this. We must not forget Islanders have beaten Bruins twice already this season and they were in worse shape at the time.

Damn why is Rask not playing . Still they have Poulin so Isles have no advantage in the goalie matchup.

Islanders looking like shit. Counting on them to step up later in the game as they usually start rocking in 3rd period lately.

Thanks guys
Tomorrow I like Winnipeg to keep on riding the momentum with new coach. Their defense has gotten pretty scary, they managed to shut down top offensive teams from West: Chicago, Anaheim and I'd say San Jose as well since Sharks managed to score just a single goal in 1-0 victory over Jets. With new coach they have a 88.2 % PK and that is included playing vs top scoring teams in the league. This should be a good match up against Nashville's powerplay which is quite good actually (6th in the league). Winnipeg could improve their powerplay as they lack realization but with healthy Kane being back in the lineup I'm sure they can only get better in the offense. Jets are 6-1 in last 7 matches under new coach, the only loss came in San Jose with a score of 1-0. In 6/7 matches they have scored at least 3 goals vs their opponents. Nashville is playing according to warm-cold recipe. They lose a couple, then manage to win a couple. They have beaten Dallas and Vancouver (though these 2 opponents were not doing great at the time) but managed to lose vs Calgary and Edmonton, two of the worst teams in the league. Injury of Pekka Rinne was a tough spot to deal with so they got into bad position to reach the playoffs when he went out in late October. They are struggling ever since. I don't know who the starters in net will be tomorrow but my guess is Pavelec vs Hutton. It doesn't matter, if Jets were in a similar slurp as Predators less than a month ago, they are a much better team at the moment, on the right track, with something to play for, while Predators could end the season tomorrow. Surprisingly Predators are only 1 point behind Jets who are falling behind the 8th place for 7 points. Nashville tomorrow also concludes their 4-games long roadtrip and we know how teams can be playing their final match in such situation, tired and already with thoughts back home so they might underpeform. 4 road matches in 6 days should take its toll.

Washington Capitals ML @ -137 Pinnacle 5/10
Battle of two clubs in bad shape and form. Buffalo has won only 3 out of 12 last matches which made their gap at the bottom of the league even wider. Somehow they managed to stop Columbus which was on fire with 5-2 but they were shown their place yesterday in Pittsburgh where they lost to Fleury's shutout with 3-0. For Sabres Miller was in the net and he did a good job but there were too many mistakes in the defense which Penguins capitalized from. Tonight they go with Enroth who is very decent this year but I think it's a better option for Capitals as they have lost twice to Miller already. Washington has managed to find and end to their crysis. They lost 7 matches straight and finally bounced back in Montreal where they have won with 5-0. Captain Ovechkin has returned to the lineup and sparked a little hope with a goal and assist. Three players managed to score their first season goals in Montreal... and Holtby got his 2nd season shutout. Teams have played eachother twice so far in the season and both times Sabres have won after shootout with 2-1 so it doesn't look like a good matchup for Capitals but there is no time for second guesses from now on, we are already far in the season and playoff spot is running away if they don't start winning more. Capitals are coming from a 5-0 victory over Canadiens and they should build from this momentum to continue past Sabres with 2 points. Despite some injuries (probably the most important is missing of Grabovski) they should be a better team in this match-up, they have one of the best powerplays in the league so they can look for chances with a player advantage if they won't be able to score from 5 on 5.

Bro, there is no Kane until after the Olympics. He has an infected hand(heard it on the radio this morning) and from the NHL.com. I still like the play. The Jets are very hot right now ever since they brought in the new coach.
I kind of like the UNDER 5.5. Past 5 games have been UNDER 5.5.

penetrate it, I had a write up almost ready but browser crashed on me... to sum it up: it's a derby between Islanders and Rangers, both are scoring alot lately, with players such as Nash, Zuccarello, Vanek, Okposo, Tavares on the ice the fire cannons should be fully loaded. Nabokov in net after a while, not sure if that's a good choice. Last 2 mutual matches belong to Islanders who have won with 5-3. Open ice, huge hype, big crowd, Islanders need points, Rangers went through it already, nice odds, lets score some goals!

Looking good to me tonight: Boston, Toronto, San Jose, Tampa Bay, Anaheim, Pittsburgh but I'll take a pass. Just one small play for me today:
Columbus Blue Jackets/Washington Capitals over 5.5 @ -103 Pinnacle 3/10
Important match for both teams. Columbus has now lost 3 games after their hot streak and Washington has now won 2 games after their cold streak. Despite the losses Blue Jackets could still score 2 on each of the last 3 matches and before that they were scoring 3-5 goals. Capitals have won 2 matches where they have scored 5 goals. 2/3 season mutual matches went into over, first one had concluded with 4-1 for Capitals so it seems like a good offensive match-up between these two. As it will be the last mutual match of the regular season I think points are very important for both, currently none of them is in top 8 and they both have the same number of points. Either a defensive lock down or high scoring match, given the current shape of both teams I think they will rather count on offense than defense.
Same match-up but this time they will play in Austrian capital. Linz is still without the injured players. Yesterday Vienna has won with 3-0, their goalie Zaba was outstanding so he got rewarded with a shutout. Despite the missings in offense Linz had some "dangerous" chances but Zaba was too good. Ouzas - Linz's goalie wasn't much worse either, it could have been easily 5-0 for Vienna but Ouzas did his job well. All in all Capitals were a better team so they have won and I expect them to repeat the performance tomorrow. It is the last round of EBEL before olympic break so I'm sure they will want to get 2 points to stay in the 1st place (they have 1 point advantage before Bolzano and Salzburg who both have nice chances to win tomorrow as well).

4.2.2014 - International Friendlies
Austria reg. @ +112 MarathonBet 6/10
Austria PK @ -120 Pinnacle 7/10
Final preparation match for Austrian national team which travels into Sochi tomorrow so this is a dress rehearsal in front of home crowd in Austrian capital - Vienna. They have the complete roster minus the 3 NHL players and injured Starkbaum, Atlmann and Lebler. It is still a top Austrian team roster, they have qualified to Sochi with it and they played without their NHL players so far. Denmark is without NHL players as well but they will also miss 10 players who are a common part of the team otherwise. It seems like a B team with young players from Swedish leagues who will no doubt want to excel but they didn't have any bigger training sessions, they have gathered yesterday and simply travelled to Austria. They are probably focusing on IIHF WC which will be in May since they won't be playing in Sochi. It is a friendly match but given the situation I think Austrians are bigger favorites than the odds show.

Good luck man! I'm with you on a few of these.
Y has no one mentioned Wild at all? They are playing well for what they've had going on. Sure they're 3-1-2 in their last 5, but those were all well fought games. They beat the Ducks and the Hawks and the Bolts in that span and took the Avalanche and Sharks to OT. Quality of competition tells me they're actually playing well. Kruemper looks good for them in net. Parise as been hot. Needless to say I got them to win tonight. Put half a unit on -1.5 too.

Thanks, I really need it, been cold with my picks lately
Yeah, too few love for Minny. They are playing according to warm-cold principle (win one, lose one, etc.) but so is Nashville. They are struggling with goalie injuries but Kuemper is solid lately, had his top season performance against Tampa Bay and Predators are a huge mess without their Rinne as well. Wild is playing better at home while Nashville will continue their roadtrip. Final match before the break for Minny as well so they would want to conclude it with a victory while Nashville has one more to play. I expect a strong "fairwell" performance by USA team captain Parise and I can also throw in here mutual matches - last two have been shutout victories for Wild so it looks like a good match-up.
