alright, another workman like day. My two losses were Ottawa/Nashville.... lol sad part is i probably shoulda won both those games as both teams out played there opponents. Ottawa was kind of a long shot i guess. Oh well. Edmonton gave me a scare. I knew they were gonna be rusty, but i didnt think they let up 3 right away. They really owned this game. coulda been 8-4 EDM. 56 shots setting a record! nice work boys!

Awesome work Matt. Tempted to hit OTT TT U2.5 until it becomes unprofitable. Yeah, they had lots of shots but as far as scoring chances go, it was limited. Just don't see them scoring much. Thoughts?

I cant understand for the life of me why Buffalo is +140 here. Yes buffalo's record isnt great, but with a win over a solid Boston team that was rested coming in, I think there confidence in each other an ability has been lifted. Looking at both these teams, on paper there pretty similar. I really havnt liked the way Pittsburgh has played so far. Ottawa the other night could have beat them on a second game of a back to back if it wasnt for karlsson's injury. Pittsburg came thru in the 3rd against ottawa because they wernt even focused on winning at that point. Pittsburg played winnipeg at NTS center. Winnipeg had a S H I T ton of chances and just couldnt burry the puck. There a team thats grabbing the sticks a little tight due to not scoring any goals.

I guess in the end this buffalo line in current form should be about +110. Ryan Miller isnt confirmed yet but i dont see why he wouldnt be playing. anyways i just cant back -140 for the road team unless it was against florida or columbus.

Sabres looked really bad against the Bruins for two periods, should have been down big and were lucky to win that one. I would treed lightly here, Miller going to have to stand on his head again and probably low scoring if Buffalo is going to win.

Im giving the kings a shot here. There should be some motivation after chicago came in and embaressed them 6-3 at home. If we can get the johnathan Quick of old think they can win. LA played reat in Detrot in an afternoon game and could have won, they badly out shot detroit. If LA can play a hard nose game today, this should cme down to quick again. Im hoping he can steal u a game here.

i'm not either. i think the kings &vancouver (next game) both have decent shots at taking down the blackhawks, so i'm gonna fade the blackhawks and see what happens. hopefully we can pick up a unit. i appreciate your input on all the games you pick as well by the way. i like that you actually think about your picks and can give the reasoning behind why you picked them.

I noticed this line was +105 when the rest of the game is +135. seems sorta odd to me. i thinks the kings will come out hard!

haha yeah. it really tilts me when people make threads & just give their plays with no reasoning behind them & toss up the emoticon & call it a day.

a couple thoughts for the later games that i'm considering:

-Flames/Stars o5.5 (both goalies playing are giving up over 3 goals/game, the last meeting between these two was a 7-4 win for the Flames, iirc)
-Rangers/Capitals o5.5 (3.9 & 2.5 goals being given up per game by the 2 goalies in this one. both teams have been putting up a lot of goals. i might take the TT of at least one of the teams too -- probably the rangers. i'd like to take the rangers here, but the juice is really high. may take the puck line but not sure yet)

I think you guys bring up an interesting point. What stats and external variables do you think are the most important to consider in terms of hierarchal value? I have seen shallow write-ups that are just as bad as no write-up, or a one-sentence write-up.

i like playing the totals more than sides, so i usually look at recent games for both teams (for their scoring) as well as the goalies starting for that day and how they've been playing.
