I would have preferred a penalty shot there honestly. Penalty shots favor the goalie big time. Especially against a playmaker like Big Joe.

sharks problem last 2years was their penalty kill. it was pathetic and got them bounced from playoffs last 2years. this year it has been much better. it will be interesting to see if it holds up. west is wide open though.

Assuming Chicago and Anaheim win they will face Chicago. If Detroit wins they will face Anaheim and Detroit gets Chicago.

Last night I saw something that's never been done before in the history of ANY sports. I saw a coach stupid enough to bench the player playing the best on his team as a way of shaking the team up. Luongo has been far and away the best player for the Canucks in this series. What does he get for his effort? benched, that's what. What kind of message does that send to the rest of your team? If playing fantasic doesn't keep you playing, then what does,playing like the twins?. Luongo came in off the bench last night and just continues where he left off, playing great. I hope they trade him asap because he most certainly deserves to be playing someplace where he is more appreciated.

That made no sense... If Detroit wins, Anaheim is pretty much gone :P And a whole other point... Isn't the seedings decided beforehand?
As in 1./8. meets 4./5. and 2./7. meets 3./6.? In which case they'll meet DET/ANA no matter what...
But what do I know...? I'm European :P

EDIT: Just read up on it... Guess it's best means worst seed, no matter what, and the two in between that meets each other... didn't know that actually... but that means Sharks (6.) still has a lot of options, given who win the other series (taken in to account that Sharks actually win their series)...

If the logical thing happens and CHI, ANA and STL (highest seeds) win, then they play CHI...
Should one of the 2 highest seed slip, then they play the winner of STL/LA...
Should both of the top seeds slip, then they play DET...

Hope I understood it all right
