Win / Loss record by league

--Here is an early picture of where I stand with each league. I know that this is very early for any type of reliability, but they do offer a window into what is happening & how I am trending by league. I put this together because of

    AUSTRIA: EBEL------------------ 0-1-0 = -3 units
    CZECH REPUBLIC: Extraliga--10-5-0 = +15.56 units
    FINLAND: SM-liiga--------------- 7-6-2 = -11.69 units
    GERMANY: DEL------------------- 2-2-0 = -1.96 units
    NORWAY: Eliteserien------------ 0-1-0 = -3 units
    RUSSIA: KHL-----------------------8-13-5 = -21.76 units
    SLOVAKIA: Extraliga------------- 1-1-0 = +2.71 units
    SWEDEN: HockeyAllsvenskan-- 0-0-2 = 0 units
    SWITZERLAND: NLA-------------- 7-4-2 = +5.3 units

    Stats show positive for:
    CZECH REPUBLIC: Extraliga--10-5-0 = +15.56 units
    SWITZERLAND: NLA-------------- 7-4-2 = +5.3 units
    SLOVAKIA: Extraliga------------- 1-1-0 = +2.71 units

--The Slovakia stats are too way too low to be reliable. More data needed for a better picture.
    Stats show negative for:
    RUSSIA: KHL-----------------------8-13-5 = -21.76 units
    FINLAND: SM-liiga---------------- 7-6-2 = -11.69 units
    AUSTRIA: EBEL-------------------- 0-1-0 = -3 units
    NORWAY: Eliteserien------------- 0-1-0 = -3 units
    GERMANY: DEL--------------------- 2-2-0 = -1.96 units

--The stats for Austria, Norway, & Germany are too way too low to be reliable. More data needed for a better picture.

    Looking at the numbers:
--If I stopped playing KHL games, my BR would be in the black
--The Czech & Swiss leagues have netted me the most profits
--I have a winning percentage in the Finnish league, but negative profits. There is a good opportunity to capitalize if I watch the number of units played.

I will be tweaking my strategy going forward to try & benefit from this exercise.

Cheers & Best O'Luck to all

      Thursday's PiX

      CZECH REPUBLIC: Extraliga
      12:30 Plzen vs Kladno -.5 (+115 Bet365) 3 units

      Plzen 5W-2OTW-1OTL-2L = 20 points -Home 2W-2OTW-1L -4th place
      Kladno 6W-1OTL-3L = 19 points -----Away 3W-2L ------5th place

      Goals for/Against
      Plzen 35-27 = avg 3.5/2.7
      Kladno 32-22 = avg 3.2/2.2

      NHL talent
      G - Tuukka Rask to HC Plzen 2.05 GAA 11-8-3 .929 SV% for Boston
D - Michal Rozsival to HC Plzen 6G, 15A for NYR / Phoenix

F - Jaromir Jagr to HC Kladno 19G, 39A for Philly
C - Tomas Plekanec to HC Kladno 17G, 35A for Montreal
F - Jiri Tlusty to HC Kladno 17G, 19A for Carolina
      D - Tomas Kaberle to HC Kladno 3G, 28 A for Carolina / Montreal
D - Marek Zidlicky to HC Kladno 2G, 20A for Minnesota / Jersey
C - Vladimir Sobotka to HC Kladno 5G, 15A for St. Louis
F - Roman Cervenka to HC Kladno 23G, 16A for Omsk

Both teams are very close in the standings, but I like Jagr & his Kladno crew in this match. I'm also leaning on the under 5.5 / +125 -not sure if I will play this. It will be a game time decision.

      NORWAY: Eliteserien
      12:30pm Stjernen vs Sparta Sarpsborg -1 (-120 Bet365 alt line) 3 units

      Stjernen 2W-5L = 6 points ----------Home 2W-1L -----8th place
      Sparta 3W-2OTW-1OTL-1L = 14 points -Away 2OTW-1OTL -4th place

      Goals for/Against
      Stjernen 17-25 = avg 2.43/3.57
      Sparta 25-21 = avg 3.57/3.0

Stjernen is the lowest scoring team in the league. Sparta should be able to win by a couple of goals or get the push at least.

      SWEDEN: Elitserien
      1:00pm Linkopings vs AIK over 5 (-110 Bet365 alt line) 3 units

      Linkopings 5W-1OT-4L = 16 points -7th place (1 game in hand)
      AIK 2W-3OTL-6L = 9 points -------12th place

      Goals for/Against
      Linkopings 29-30 = avg 2.9/3.0 --5.9 game
      AIK -------22-36 = avg 2.0/3.27 -5.3 game
      Combined avg of 5.57

Their combined avg is pointing towards the over. The last time they played, AIK was at home & they lost 4-2. Linkopings is coming off a 4-1 road loss to the league leader & will be looking to show their fans what they've got - playing the last place team is a great opportunity to gain confidence. They will probably cover the 5.5 spread (+1.35), but I will play it a little safer.

      SWEDEN: Elitserien
      1:00pm Lulea vs Vaxjo over 4.5 (-111 Bet365 alt line) 5 units

      Lulea 5W-2OTW-3L = 19 points ------Home 3W-1L -----------5th place (2 games in hand)
      Vaxjo 1W-3OTW-1OTL-7L = 10 points -Away 1W-1OTW-1OTL-3L -10th place

      Goals for/Against
      Lulea 24-15 = avg 2.4/1.5 --3.9 game
      Vaxjo 18-33 = avg 1.5/3.27 -2.75 game
      Combined avg of 4.09

Simply looking at the combined numbers will point to the under. Dig a little deeper & see that:
      -3 of Lulea's last 5 have gone over 5.
-The last time Vaxjo hosted Lulea, they lost 5-1
      -3 of Vaxjo's last 5 have gone over 5.

      I see a final score of 4-1 or 4-2

I've been spending lots of time digging deeper into the Euro-Leagues to see where I can tweak my PiX.
I did well on your basketball PiX yesterday. You're really nailing it - keep up the solid work!

            Nice picks Redman.

Do you have any opinion about Rogle BK - Modo? Some bookies still offer +115 for a Modo win. The team plays very good at the moment and are in a good run right now. Especially with Alexander Steen (lockout NHL-player) who keeps producing points.

            BOL!

Redbull, sorry I missed your question - I usually have to head out just before noon to take care of my running around and I ended up missing your post.

As for Modo - I hope you played it! They won 3-2 & Steen picked up a couple of assists in the game. I remember looking at the game but did not like itfor some reason. I did lean towards Modo (4th vs 11th) but did not pull the trigger.

No problems mate! Cant always hang around the computer

Yes I played some units on Modo. Steen is freakin' hot right now. Best player in our Swedish league - Elitserien. I watched the game live in Lindab Arena (I'm from Helsingborg, Sweden) and Modo played very good the first two periods. They deserved the win.

                  Congrats to the o4.5 game.

Very glad to hear you got some $$$ down on it.

                    Couple of questions for you:
                    -Which book do you use?
-is there a good site for streaming Sweden's games? I've got quite a few sites I use for streaming but they do not have many games. The Swedish hockey market is very large with many leagues & I'd like to see more of their games.

-Side note: Sweden has contributed a great deal to my team. I live in Ottawa & follow the Senators - your country has kindly shared: Alfie: The longest currently serving Captain in the NHL & a huge contributor to the city & many charities in it. I'm sad that this funkin lockout may be the end of his career...
Karlsson: In a word 'WOW'. This kid is incredible. Speed, talent, guts, a pile of points, & won the Norris over many other quality folks like Chara. Also got the nod for the legendary #4, Bobby Orr.

ThanX mate & Best O'Luck on your PiX!

                      Friday PiX

                      CZECH REPUBLIC: Extraliga
                      11:30am Zlin -1.5 vs Ceske Budejovice (+100 Bet365) 5 units

                      Zlin 6W-1OTW-1OTL-2L = 21 points -3rd place -Home 3W-1OTW-1OTL
                      Ceske 3W-7L = 9 points-----------12th place -Away 1W-4L

                      Goals for/Against
                      Zlin 28-24 = avg 2.8/2.4
                      Ceske 18-38 = avg 1.9/3.8

Zlin is a solid team that should have no problem handling Ceske who has lost their last 5 straight up by margins of: 3, 5, 3, 4, 4. To say 'free-fall' is not an understatement. Their 3 wins come from teams placed 9th, 13th, & 14th.

I can see this game ending 5-1 or 5-2.

                      CZECH REPUBLIC: Extraliga
                      12:15pm Slavia Prague vs Chomutov +.5 (+100 Bet365) 5 units

                      Slavia 5W-5L = 15 points -------------8th place -Home 2W-2L
                      Chomutov 3W-3OTW-1OTL-3L = 16 points -7th place -Away 1W-2OTW-OTl-1L

                      Goals for/Against
                      Slavia 24-24 = avg 2.4/2.4
                      Chomutov 32-28 = avg 3.2/2.8

                      NHL talent
                      F - Michael Frolik to Chomutov 5G, 10A for Chicago --5G & 2A in 5 games for Chomutov
D - Milan Jurcina to Chomutov 3G, 8A for NYI

2 fairly evenly matched teams in the standings. Goal differential strongly favors Chomutov & my gut is screaming Chomutov. They also have the NHL talent advantage. Frolik is liting up the board with 7 points in 5 games. This is a strong play for + odds IMHO.

                      CZECH REPUBLIC: Extraliga
1:00pm Pardubice vs Kometa Brno ML (+140 Bet365) 3 units

                      Kometa 6W-2OTW-2OTL = 24 points -------Away 2W-1OTW-2OTL -1st place (1 game in hand)

                      Goals for/Against

                      Kometa 29-34 = avg 2.64/3.09

                      NHL talent
                      F - Ales Hemsky to HC Pardubice 10G, 26A for Edmonton (2G &7A current)
D - Jakub Kindl to HC Pardubice 1G, 12A for Detriot in 55 games (1A current)
C - David Krejci to HC Pardubice 23G, 39A for Boston (2A current)

Pardubice has the 3 players from the NHL & home ice, but they are playing the #1 team. I love the +140 odds for ML & feel like i should be playing the full 5 units but will play it a little safer.

                      11:30am Blues Espoo -1 vs Hameenlinna (-110 Bet 365) 3 units

                      Blues Espoo 3W-1OTW-2OTL-1L = 22 points -Home 4W-1OTL -2nd place (1 game in hand)
                      Hameenlinna 3W-3OTW-1OTL-4L = 16 points -Away 1W-2OTW-3L -7th place

                      Goals for/Against
                      Blues Espoo 37-25 = avg 3.7/2.5
                      Hameenlinna 26-25 = avg 2.36/2.27

The Blues has a shocking OTL to Tappara on their last outing. Look for them to exact revenge on Hameenlinna for this game.

                      FINLAND: SM-liiga
                      11:30am Ilves Tampere vs Jyp Jyvaskyla -1.5 (-135 Bet365) 5 units

                      Ilves 2W-2OTW-1OTL-5L = 11 points -Home 2W-2OTW-1OTL-2L -12th place (1 game in hand)
                      Jyp 8W-2OTL-1L = 26 points --------Away 5W-1OTL ---------1st place

                      NHL talent
F - Rich Peverley to JYP Jyvaskyla 11G, 31A for Boston (1A current)

JYP was embarrassed during their last home game by last place TPS in a shootout loss 9being a fly on the wall in the dressing room for the after game chat would have been entertaining). I see them pounding Ilves in this match with the final 4-1 or 5-1. I lean strongly toward the over 5.5 /+125 as well (that may be a game time play for me).

Rich Peverley has also been very quiet with only a single assist in 4 games. His manhood & skills were probably questioned after the last game as well - look to him to lite up the board today as well.

                      FINLAND: SM-liiga
                      11:30am Jokerit vs Pelicans Lahti

-I'd like to take Jokerit, but the odds are shit & I am unable to find out if Antti Niemi will be between the pipes for the Pelicans.

                      GERMANY: DEL
                      1:30pm Adler Mannheim vs Krefeld Pinguine +1.5 (-114 Bet365) 3 units

                      Adler 6W-1OTW-2L = 20 points---------Home 4W-1OTW --------2nd place
                      Krefeld 2W-2OTW-1OTL-4L = 11 points -Away 1W-1OTW-1OTL-2L -9th lace

                      Goals for/Against
                      Adler 32-15 = avg 3.56/1.67
                      Krefeld 21-25 = avg 2.33/2.78

                      NHL talent
D - Dennis Seidenberg to Adler Mannheim 5G, 18A for Boston (0 points in 2 games)
                      D - Christian Ehrhoff to Krefeld Penguins 5G, 21A for Buffalo (3G & 3A in 7 games)

Everything points to as Adler win, but I don't see them winning by 2 - I could even see this match goint to OT. Christian Ehrhoff has been great for Krefeld. Krefeld really seems to elevate their game when playing the better teams in the league.

I see this game ending 3-2, possibly in OT / shootout.

                      GERMANY: DEL
                      1:30pm Eisbaren Berlin -.5 vs Kolner (-125 Bet365) 5 units

                      Berlin 4W-1OTW-4L = 14 points -Home 2W-1OTW-2L -4th place

                      Berlin 31-15 = avg 3.44/1.67
                      Kolner 27-30 = avg 3.0/3.33

                      NHL talent
C - Claude Giroux to Eisbaren Berlin 28G, 65A for Philly
C - Daniel Briere to Eisbaren Berlin 16G, 33A for Philly

This should be a big day for Berlin as they have both of their new NHL additions hitting the ice for this game - add on home ice advantage & they should win this straight up. Both Giroux (243 points in 285 games) & Briere (643 points in 813 games) know where the back of the net is & they should be able to make great plays off of each other as long as the coach is smart enough to keep them on a line together.

I am strongly considering addding 2 units to the alternate handicap -1.5 / +135.

I will be releasing more plays - but wanted to post these for now. I have a very good feeling about today & hope to make good bank.

                      Best O'Luck to all

Well, I use many bookies (I'm always searching for the highest odds) but mainly I use Pinnacle, Bet365 and Ladbrokes.

Unfortunately there not many good sites for streaming Swedish Elitserien/Allsvenskan. I have the channels on my TV so I dont have the problems with searching streams

Thats funny that you mention Ottawa. I'm also a fan of the Sens and Alfie truly is a fantastic player and captain. And Erik Karlsson, OMG what a great player. I love the way he plays. Very offensive style. What do you think about Jakob Silfverberg? He was one of the best player in Elitserien when he played for Brynas.
You may wonder why I like Ottawa. The deal is that my cousin (born in Poland) moved to Ottawa to start his own business, and he's doing great. He also started the “Challengers” Tennis Academies of Canada.

                        Cheers mate

I like Silfverberg & he will do very well with our new coach - Paul 'the mustache' Maclean. He is the coach we have needed for a long time & I was very happy to see him signed to Ottawa. Ottawa is a very 'homey' team where players come to play, but end up staying because of the high standard of living, safe streets, & overall friendly environment I really hope that he gets to spend some quality time playing with Alfie, that did Karlsson a world of good.

The onlt thing that concerns me a little is that he is not a physical as he could be. He's a big kid that has shown great offensive talent, but the NHL can be a very rough league & he will need to carve out his space. I believe that he's capable, now he just has to prove it. Too bad the millionaires are fighting with the billionaires & have my league shut down...

Redbull, please feel free to add ant input or links that you have for the Swedish leagues, it would help me greatly to have someone in country sharing info.

F - Chris Stewart to Eispiraten Crimmischau 15G, 15A for St Louis

On paper this should be an east win for Schwenninger. The 2 variables that have been added are Simmonds (1G & 6A in 5 games) & Stewart (2G & 5A in 5 games). This pair can be game changers - especially in a 2nd tier league. They already have 7 points each in 5 games. Schwenninger may be the #1 team, but they have to be concerned when facing these snipers.

This should be an easy victory for Bofors at home. 1st place vs 2nd last place. there are no NHL'ers in the mix for this game. Karlskrona's only road win came against last place Almtuna.

Landeskog is the reason I'm playing this game. he was spectacular in his first match the other day & had a goal & an assist in his teams 3-2 shootout win over Orebro. I predict that he will be a scoring machine for Djurgardens who should climb the ranks on his back.

This is my longest odd of the day & I feel great about it.

Rapperswil was completely pounded by Servette 8-1 in their last game. Servette is in first place by a wide 10 point margin but still 8-1??? Humbled does not even begin to describe how many of the folks from Rapperswil must have felt. to have their next game against the team that's dead last overall, has not won a road game, & only scores an average of 1.8 GPG is a blessing.

I believe that Rapperswil will take their beating and pass it on to Ambri winning by a score of 5-1 or better. Jason Spezza had only 1 breakout game & then Servette shut him down - look for a resurgence.

I have a very large card today that I feel great about. Hopefully the BR will be in the black after today.

What are you playing todat Redman? My two bets:

                                        Modo – Frolunda over 5 @ 1.99
                                        / -101.01

Took this yesterday when Pinnacle offered 1.99. This game will be very interesting. I believe that we will see some goals here. In Frolunda Matt Duchene and Viktor Stalberg are ready to go. The coach said that they will play in the same line together with Fabian Brunnstrom (also former NHL-player). Another positive thing for Frolunda: Magnus Kahnberg is back from injury. Meanwhile, defenceman Pierre Johnsson will miss today’s game due to an injury.

Modo is playing high-quality hockey right now. Alexander Steen keeps producing points (8 games, 13 points). Last time these two teams played each other the game ended 7-6 to Frolunda. Modo have scored most goals in Elitserien so far (34) while Frolunda have scored 27 goals. Both teams have played 12 matches.

The only thing that scares me today is the goalkeepers.
Starkbaum in Modo: 1.54 GAA and 94.44 SVS.
Hudacek in Frolunda: 1.95 GAA and 91.70 SVS

But with the offensive skills that we will see in this game I think that we can see over 5 goals. (Steen, Muller, Spina, Skroder, Nagy in Modo. Lundqvist, Kahnberg, Stalberg, Duchene, A. Axelsson in Frolunda)

                                        AIK – Lulea. Lulea -0.5 @ 1.917 / -109.05

My second bet for today. Bookie: Pinnacle. Lulea plays a solid hockey and has the two best goalkeepers in Elitserien (Rautio and Gustafsson). They have only conceded 16 goals in 11 games. Last time these two teams played each other the game ended in a Lulea win, 3-1. According to AIK team news they still miss Dick Tarnstrom.

                                        AIK home:
                                        8 AIK 6 2 0 2 2 14:19 8
                                        Lulea away:
                                        3 Lulea 6 2 2 0 2 16:10 10

Hey Red, Red, (&/or other hockey enthusiasts)

I'm not familiar with that five-number format...i assume first three are over-all W-L-Tie...and guess that the last two numbers are W-L record in extended play (OT &/or shootout)...so AIK, 6-2-0-2-2 means they are 6-2-0 over-all....with 2 of their 6 wins (and both of their losses) coming after regulation...

                                          is this right?

                                                      Frolunda – HV71. Frolunda PK @ 2.00 / +100 - Pinnacle

Frolunda won their last match away against Modo (4-3). Duchene and Stalberg played really well. Stalberg scored one goal and Duchene made two assists. HV71 had problems with one of the league’s worst team (Rogle) and managed to win after OT. Unfortunately Frolunda has five straight losses against HV71 but hey, trends are made to be broken. Frolunda comes home to Gothenburg with two straight away wins and with reinforcements like Duchene and Stalberg. These two NHL-players will now make their home debut. Expect the fans to be loud and crazy.

It’s time for Frolunda to improve their home stats:
