Odds rate of change for different sports
It seems to me that odds change less frequently for alternative sports such as golf, tennis, and boxing. Major sports such as basketball, football, and baseball change many times per hour. What are the reasons for this difference? Less liquidity and flow of information? Anything else? Thanks for your insight.

generally speaking, odds change when one side is significantly more heavily bet (in monetary terms) than the other side, and since the sportsbook wants to balance their books, it will adjust the odds to attract more money in wagers on the underbet side.

so for sports that don't have odds change that much, that is probably an indication the sportsbooks are in balance (and often an indication there isn't significant activity on either side.)
