in a nutshell, you bet the over on the first 5 innings and the under on the game total if the difference between the two of them is 5 or higher.

example atlanta versus colorado first half over 5 1/2 game total under 11

use books that allow you to move these lines, buy the extra half runs when you can get them cheap.

these tandem plays are easiest to find on the games with larger game totals. when a game total line is moving up, often in the 30 minutes before game start, shop for the best first half line you can find first. these first half lines usually are adjusted slower than the game lines. then go back and bet the game line.

some books offer a 4 1/2 inning first half line instead of the five inning line. my experience with these is that they do not work as well unless there is a 1 run difference between them and the full five inning line. for example, if the first 5 inning line is 6, don't bet the 4 1/2 inning line unless it is at 5.

for some reason the 5/10 is unlucky for me. i do best on the games i find 5 1/2 - 11.
