Would this money management strategy work for baseball?
start with a $400 bankroll, make $200 bets, only $200 bets. I usually find 4 or 5 plays a week that I really like. How many of these 4 or 5 plays would I need to hit to build up the bankroll?

I'm just not interested in making unit plays where I supposedly like some plays more than others. That is not working out for me.

Does anyone else use this type of strategy?

It's going to depend on both the odds at which you place your bets and how you define "build up a bankroll".

What we can say with certainty, however, would be that if you lose your first two wagers you'll be out of the game.

I think most people here generally bet less than half their bankroll on any given play.

Did you make a typo fiveteamer? Did you mean $4,000?

        I figured 0-2 and I'm out. I won't bet anything under 1.80.

UGH, I'll stay out of this thread then.

I almost never lay more than -130 on anything.

Really LT? You have a remarkable ROI, so thats something to consider...

I also want to play bases at Betfair, so my baseball money won't eat into my horse money and vice versa.

If you're betting at zero-vig and at even odds you'd have a 400 (1,000+400) ≈ 28.571% probability of making $1,000 before losing your initial $400 stake.

                Apparently neither will fiveteamer. 1.80 = -125.

Not on MLB this year, that's for sure.

But I more than made up for it in CBB and NHL. NBA was very flat.

                            Ganch,

I assumed he meant -180 since I think fiveteamer is American. I could be wrong.

This has been working well. 1 unit a game, don't chase.

I think you could almost call every bet a chase when you're betting 50% of bankroll. Where are you at?

It was only 50% of bankroll on the first bet.

Until you win the first 7 bets or so(very unlikely), it's still an insanely high % of roll.
