chasing steam w/o getting banned??

are there ways to avoid getting banned for chasing steam?
i heard that chasing steam is one of the top reasons for sportsbooks to limit or ban players what do you about it to avoid getting banned?

i could think of two ways to avoid it:
1. don't bet the maxium wagers
2. search for ev0 bets which you wager to let it look like your are betting random!?

Maybe a good idea to plan what sort of steam you want to chase, and find out what different numbers moving at different times means first. And what line services you plan to use to "chase" with.

And what books you can get a slow moving number up in, and for what limit. You have to be able to make a bet before you can get thrown out.

Place stream bets, + do a lot of -EV bets. They don't care that your stream betting as long as your losing money to them in the long run. Maybe if you have a friend that likes to bet online, use his account. If he is losing his shirt-off, and you hit a stream every now and then, no one would notice.

Other than that, it should be impossible considering that you will be in the money and growing in the long run, and all they need to see is your making 10-20k off them per year, year over year, your ass is gone.

Net profit doesn't necessarily matter. I've been booted from books where I had a very tiny profit because they thought I was betting steam. (I actually wasn't even trying to bet steam, I was just following a successful capper that moved lines quickly.) Just to use an example of a successful capper that moves lines, it wouldn't surprise me if there are books that will boot you for betting RAS totals even if you don't show an overall profit in the account.

If you bet before the line has moved anywhere, it isn't really "betting steam," although I suppose the difference between betting at 410pm when the steam move is at 415pm doesn't look any different to the book than if you'd bet it at 416pm.

I should really know better than to try to make sense of anything you post, but betting RAS totals before the line moves would be one of the sharper plays one could make. Even if you don't think RAS is a winner, you could certainly middle those plays for a profit.

No, you'll get booted from some sportsbooks for betting stuff like that. Your overall profit or even your bet size isn't necessarily relevant. As another simple example, a few years back, Mansion was barring anyone from betting NFL teasers that was remotely sharp. $25 and $50 bettors were barred from betting teasers there in a matter of a month or two if they were only betting "basic strategy" teasers.

Once steam has run its course, there is extreme value on the other side. Fezzik uses a version of a model I started with in 1993 and he is probably the pre-eminent capper at this time. Not sure what the pseudo-intellectuals did with that thread. But, if you can find it, it has a ton of good insight into building yourself a "fade the steam" model. GL

You claimed before the line moved "anywhere". Clearly RAS plays are moving at some books before others. Ergo its considered steam. Add in that virtually every book moves and its clearly considered steam.

Winning doesn't make you sharp. PC posted a basic math fail on deriving future odds for the NBA playoffs. If you are trying to give advice on pricing a future, and don't know the correct way to do it mathematically. You're an idiot. Imagine that. I don't know what Beetman or Custer said, but PC is a pretty good example of showing that knowledge =/= monies. There is much more to winning in sports betting than just being able to derive super accurate lines.

Why do you need to come across as some big shot? If the casino sportsbooks are letting you bet as much as you want, that means you are just some whale who they know is a long-term loser. Ask Justin7 about his experience with some casinos in Vegas, how many times he's been limited, had a ticket taken back etc He's been refused a bet on a Super Bowl side on the actual game day in Vegas. The M is one of the only casinos in Vegas not afraid of action.

The guys who move the most money do it with credit shops, not with offshore post up books or Vegas casinos.

Its time to start using the betting exchanges, such as BetFair, my friend. They don't care how much you bet, or who you bet on. If you win then another one of their customer loses. Their lines are most likely better than your sportsbook, you can get out and lock in your profits during the game, and you only pay 3% on your net winnings...nothing if you lose.
