#22the more points scored in a game the better chance the best team wins, soccer baseball hockey = any team can score 1-0 and win the game, basketball tends to let more scoring oppurtunities with the best team (hopefully) scoring more.

For example, compare the moneyline of a 16 point dog in NBA basketball early in the season as compared to late in the season.
The 16 point dog might be +1500 early in the season and can be +3000 or higher late in the season once eliminated from playoff contention.
However, with few (if any) exceptions, the larger the favorite, the better chance of them winning.Comment -
