If the adv. Runs per game for a league was 5. Team A gives up an adv. of 10 runs per game and team B scores an adv. of 2 runs per game what would be the probable score and how would it be calculated? - 1

I was trying to get some opinion without leading anyone. I will rephrase.
When calculating runs for / runs agianst dose everyone adv them or do some calculate off lg adv. I was hoping for some differing opinions and some equations. I supose i should have been clearer. Thanks to all who take time to answer

or

team scores 2 vs avg team, will score twice as much here =4.

It would be 10/5 * 2, but thats a very weak claim. You'd have to look at the runs/gm avg for the teams they've both played, and get those calculations. Then you should be taking into account how the team is hitting recently, who's pitching, previous pitching starts etc.

Otherwise you have a fine basic analysis of the game i suppose with 4 runs scored.

First off, the average runs scored and given up for most MLB teams is 4 or 5.

So, I'm assuming you are saying the league avg Scored is 5.

Not the game total avg is 5, cuz its more like 9.5

No team gives up 10 runs a game, so you're question is dumb. That is a dumb question haha. But I guess we are all dumb to be betting online, so lets continue with the equation.

Team A would score 5 runs.

Team B would score 2 or 5 or 10 runs...

Depending on which average you go with. I usually look at specific teams, more than league averages so I would look at 2+10 divided by 2 or 6...

Which would give you Team A 5 and Team B 6, so Team B wins 6-5.

If you calculate league average, Team B's score would be 2+5+10 div. by 3..... or 5.66

So Team B would have the advantage again and win the game 5.66 to 5.

It's true to, cuz Team A's defense sucks! And uh, go with the low scoring power team over the whore-defense team... Like . in Baseball. i dunno
