The little baccarat I have played, every time a tie happens it is common for players to bet the tie up to 8 times, if they win on the tie bet they stop betting until they see another tie to then repeat the pattern.

There seems to be some merit to this, as the ties seem to come in bunches, probably when face cards get eliminated more often? Similar to counting cards in bj, more face cards eliminate the better the odds.

That article is referring to counting cards. Specifically when the deck more has even cards at the end of the shoe.

It does raise some questions. when you eliminate most of the odd numbers 1 3 5 7 9, you are left with these 0,2,4,6,8.
6,8,10,10,2 are the totals you will draw, which leaves 6,8, as 2, 10 is a hit.

Dealer will hit on 6 if you draw a 6 on player which helps if banker holds a 2.

You will see more ties. As the player stand on 6,8 and hit on 2, 10(0), getting another even number = an even total.

Near the middle of the shoe if you see a tie with 8 bets it is likely to see another tie as the deck burned a lot of odd numbers or even numbers.
