Yield v Return on Investment - How to calculate and represent your betting history?
I have been looking at different betting records and have seen the same method of calculation expressed differently, mainly when dealing with return on investment when some people include their stake in their winnings and others exclude it.

I am looking for input from other members as to what these mean to you and how you would calculate each based on the results below (showing your calculation method would be very helpful). Decimal odds are best for worldwide readers.

    Bankroll: $10,000

    Bet 1: $200 @ 1.6 - Win
    Bet 2: $100 @ 2.2 - Win
    Bet 3: $200 @ 1.8 - Lose
    Bet 4: $250 @ 1.7 - Win
    Bet 5: $100 @ 1.9 - Lose

    Odds conversion: 1.8 = 4/5 = -125

Is this how you represent your betting record?

The terms Yield and ROI not only confuse many bettors, but what is even worse, there is a good number of publications in which these terms are used incorrectly.
