This weekend I bet on BC -165. I didn't want to lay -3.5 -110 for fear that they would win by a FG. My question is was it worth it to lay -165 and avoid the possibility of having a FG cost me the cover, or was it dumb not to bet on the -3.5?

What is the better bet in this situation??

Since 1985, CFB Favorites of exactly 3.5 points are 256-257 ATS and 308-200-5 SU.

If we assume -110 on spreads and -165 on ML, that translates to -26.70 ATS and -22.00 SU.

So you would have lost slightly less on the ML.
