I don't think so, I may be wrong but I think I am right. If the ball is turned over the game is over, the kid cannot score even if he takes it all the way. The reason I believe this is I lost a game like this the first year of ot and I was explaining it to a ref and he said it can't happen anymore.

The game I needed, the announcers said that he could have ran the other way and scored but that was so long ago, I'm not sure what the rules are today.
