Rallying the horses. and restarting this thing right now!!! Sorry for mopesville. I was boozed out and Wisconsin and OU losing, the NCAAF gods added a nice cherry on top of my "Terrible Day Sundae" Hopefully we can work together and not get throttled next week.
5-11 couldnt do it again if I tried... going to make a better effort this week.

Small "Sharps" Vent

Sorry to waste anyone's time

Ok first of all I hate the word. I wish we could use some other term... Sharp is annoying to me.

I also hate when people deem them-self a "sharp", just be modest... its all gambling anyways.

More annoying, when people change their lean because they think they have a read on "sharp money" as if their are people out there that have every game right... do some research and make an informed decision. If the public is betting KSU heavy and the line goes from -11.5 to -11, dont trash your hours of research just because you think "sharps" know something you don't.

Everyone has access to the same information. I feel like: looking at it and interpreting it to the best of your abilities is more than half the battle.

Sometimes it does pay to have a good feel for both teams (general example: if you were to look at Houston's #s vs hmmm I dont know, Clemson's, I'm sure some people just look at the numbers and say "WOW Houston has a great offense and comparable defense, they should win this game" which is the worst kind of bettor.... people on this board would probably instantly lean Clemson for anything 14 or less, and that's just based on having a feel for the teams. )

I feel like using the general "feel" for the teams, coupled with the numbers to back it up, makes anyone a "sharp" (god I hate that word) assuming they put in a little time and make an informed bet.

I don't know what my point is here. I guess I just don't like people thinking there is some secret society out there, predicting every fumble, interception, kick-off return to cover, etc... It's just gambling, and as long as you get as much info as you can on any given topic you give yourself the best chance of winning.

Another good write-up, However it 's more academic exercise rather that some path for doing things the right way.
As an average bettor you will never have full and up to date info (on teams or betting public) but sometimes it just 2good 2be true. Gambling is the name of the game and some personal experience we have will dictate how and why we bet. Sometimes we can outsmart ourselves, seeing things that aren't there and other times we'll miss simple but crucial point. That is where this community comes to play, on this forum if everyone adds something to discussion we all will be better off. So, for me it's not just bluntly following someone but trying to compare and learn. There is no and won't be perfect system and there is no one player who gets every game right. Good guys like my friend "spladle08" here done 80% for you already, just pretend you are trying and do the rest.

Ive never known much about NHL, and Blocks was supposed to be LOCKS but predictive text (and or my drunken-ness) screwed me...... but if you dont mind throwing me a few PM NHL locks when you are overly confident, I would appreciate it... I know nothing about it and do horrible, I only play the teams I know to cover... I need to do more studying but just seems to hard to play

Not a good start, FIU let all of us down but calculation were correct, game shouldn't even be that close. Anyhow, these things happen and we tend to put 2 much into loses.
However as I stated before, for today's game if I forced to take a side it will be Pitt but probably will avoid this one altogether.
