i like UNC +6 and the under 52' tonight in the Independence Bowl. i have the game capped at Missou, 24-23/26-24. i could see Missou winning it by a TD, but i doubt it, and i could see UNC winning by a FG. rain and bad weather expected tonight which is good for under. Missou doesn't do well in the role of medium face or and hasn't done particularly well in bowls under Pinkel or on the road this season. agree that 1H under might be a good option.

i think that the key to the game is Franklin and that UNC will contain him with Josey being out. Carolina's defensive line is good. Missou's best attribute is its rushing game/Franklin making plays when he has a run/pass option. UNC's strength is run defense (3.14 PYC; solid since early season vs UVA, GT other than NCSU, which was kind of a fluky game) which can make Missou one-dimensional, particularly with Josey out, and i don't think Franklin will beat them if they do that. UNC has struggled vs some mobile QBs this season (Boyd, Logan Thomas, Tevin Washington), but honestly, those players and teams are better than Missou. I don't know a ton about Josey's back-ups, i'm sure that they are talented, but that guy was a real difference-maker.

UNC's offense is decent but not great, and Missou defense is solid and will keep them from putting up 30. Renner's YPA is sick, but if it's rainy, don't know that there will be a ton of passing. UNC RB Bernard is tough and might carry 25 times if weather is indeed bad. Missou edge in special teams.
