The guy is a football coach, not a counselor. Maybe he should have done something, but does he really give a shit?
He's a college coach. Big difference. He's responsible for this shit ultimately, so yes, he should have done or at least known something.
Does he "give a shit"? I sure as hell hope he would, given he's paid what $4 million a year for this?

At this point, it would be a mixed bag for Hawkeye fans..........
I certainly wouldn't mind gambling at this point and take our chances with a new coach.

Apparently this wasn't Hampton's first go-around with testing positive for drugs which is why he was asked to "transfer". Sounds like he was pissed off that he was being kicked off the team yesterday and put up several of the names that failed the drug tests. I think that's why everyone thought so many were being kicked off, because there were several players that tested positive, but this was their first positive test so Ferentz is going easy on them. Ferentz even said in the pc this morning that players are not suspended or kicked off for a first time offense. Hampton supposedly posted on facebook that twenty some odd players tested positive including 10 starters.

Thats all true. But in reality, we both know how things work. Farentz only cares about being caught. And even then, he probably won't care because he could get an NFL job pretty easily. Its sad, but its also the reality of NCAA sports these days.
[B][B]They key isn't getting rich quick. The key is getting rich slowly, and enjoying it.
It's ridiculous, but man this sort of thing happens in every athletic department across the country. I graduated from Mizzou in 2008 and I have been around football players while they've been smoking weed. My room mate that I lived with my senior year of college was a tutor for the football team. He used to bring football players over to our place all the time to smoke, I was never much into it but I'd hang out with them when they'd come over. They said it's easy to get around the drug tests because they were either scheduled out or the players were tipped off that they were going to happen. I don't think any Mizzou players were running drug houses like DJK, but a lot of the smoked weed.

If I get the jest of this news conference, there was positive test but policy states 1st offenses are not punished but they have to see a councilor. No new suspensions. Iowa will be without there starting running back. Game back on even though this has to mess with team dynamics. Oh yah, without leading wide receiver too.

Probably move some, but this isn't as big a story as everyone here in Iowa thought it was going to be.

Keep in mind, many are yet aware or interested in the IOWA/MISSOURI game..........
As game time approaches, more and more fans are going to be aware of Iowa's suspensions and other troubles and money will flow in on Missouri.
MISSOURI should open and/or close at -3 or higher..........if not, I for one would be completely shocked.
In fact, BEFORE all this news came out, I was shocked that 10-2 Missouri came out as only a -1 favorite over this disenchanted and underachieving 7-5 Hawkeye outfit.
