One man's opinion...................
Auburn fans may worry that the allegations of a sports agent shopping Cam Newton's services could cost the Tigers quarterback the Heisman Trophy. Here's guessing it won't. Newton has so much support already that it would take a significant number of voters leaving Newton off their ballots. The Heisman Trophy Trust will give ballots to 927 voters, and each one will put three players on their ballot in order. A first place vote will earn three points, second place is two points and third place is one. Whomever gets the most points will receive the trophy, which will be awarded December 11. What will weigh much more heavily in the Heisman race will be Newton's performance against Georgia on Saturday, against Alabama on November 26 and in a possible SEC Championship Game appearance December 4. Last year, Texas quarterback Colt McCoy might've lost the Heisman with a poor performance in the Big 12 Championship Game, and eventual winner Mark Ingram needed a big performance in the SEC Championship Game to make up for lackluster play against Auburn. For now, the Heisman still is Newton's to lose.
