#37MMike032....I am loving the picture man. And I also agree 100% with what you have said. I am a diehard UGA fan and I just can't support them covering +7 against Tech this year. And unfortunately I will take a Paul Johnson who has had two weeks to prepare over Willie Martinez who has had only 1 week to prepare. That is a no brainer.Comment -

#39Man, Rutgers screwed me last week....you think they tear apart Louisville?
And I think GT is definitely worthy of a play this week. Joe Cox would have to have another Arkansas type game to compete with GT. Not going to happen.Comment -

#40I think rutgers wins by 20.. Big time let down game vs. Cuse after destorying south florida. L'ville had a big win (for them) vs. Cuse and then played tough at S Florida. My only fear is its senior night(day) soooo emotions and everything but I really like rugters!Comment -

not a damn thing
and yall can argue about the SEC defensives being better than anyone...
yada, yada..
anyone that follows UGA knows where their money is going if they bet it.
I havent came across 1 person knowledagle about UGA that thinks they have a shot of covering.
maybe we all get burned and UGA wins SU, who knows.
theres gonna be alot of mixed emotions with me watching this gameComment -

#43I kind of like Tech..but playing devil advocate..This is ACC vs SEC and I would bet that SEC wins out.
I'm loving S.Carolina against Clemson this week. The level of talent in the SEC is over the top. I would bet a team like MISS St would sitting at the top of the ACC. So be careful because Georgia has played top level teams all year. Who was GTech's toughest opponent?
UGA couldn't stop GT last year so why should they stop them this year when GT is much improved and UGA is down???Comment -

#44AJ Green is listed as doubtful along with Rambo also being doubtful.
Hope gave way to reality Wednesday, as Georgia head coach Mark Richt announced both safety Bacarri Rambo and receiver A.J. Green were likely to miss Saturday’s game against Georgia Tech.
Cox will have to rely on freshman Wooten and Troupe to make the plays. If Cox can get the ball to them
not that it matters much but Richard Samuels is also out for the game after suffering a concussion in practice yesterday. He hasnt seen much playing time in a couple weeks except for special teams.Comment -

#46I just have one question, doesn't the fact that this thread exists and the fact that everybody and their mom is betting (the house) on GT worry anybody?
I personally see no reason why UGA would win or even cover, but there has to be a reason why the line is so low. Some people say based on UGA's history, but that can't have anything to do with the spread considering UGA is coming off a home loss vs. Kentucky and the public knows that. The public is HUGE on GT and the books know that which is why the spread is only 7.5. If books could get 70% of the betting public on GT, and GT can't cover, the books stand to make a lot of money. Anyways, best of luck to everybody especially those betting big on GT.Comment -

but theres no way in hell I'd play UGA at +7
personally, even as a UGA fan I hope they get blown out of the stadium so more pressure is put on Richt to make some changes. I wouldnt care if they lose to GT and lose the bowl game as long as some changes are made. if that happens it'll be GAs 1st losing season since Donnon was the coach.Comment -

#482 Reasons to stay away from this play:
1. Georgia is 5-0 ATS in its last 5 games when playing on the road against Georgia Tech
2. Georgia is playing for a bowl bid.Comment -

#55^^^The books also know that there are a bunch of guys like you that bet based solely on line movement and fading the public, etc. Fading the public isn't necessarily smart. Sharp money get's burned as well.
I don't put much stock in RLM. It's an important indicator but it's a little below home field and weather IMO. I look at both teams and look for advantages and disadvantages in personnel. I try to predict what schemes each team will face and how they will handle it. I look at coaching and how they will prepare for the game. Oline versus Dline, skilled positions in all 3 phases, etc. There's a lot more to capping a game then just looking at line movement. I also wouldn't place a bet just because one team plays in another conference.Comment -

#56Play on road underdogs of 3.5 to 10 points that are coming off a loss as a double digit home favorite after the first month of the season. This situation is 36-12 ATS (75 percent) since 1992.
Georgia was a 10 point home favorite last week vs. Kentucky and the lost SU. According to this statistic, there is a 75% chance that Georgia will cover.Comment -

#63line is going up big time. not familiar with steam, can someone please briefly explain.
Either way the line last year was 7.5 also, but with Georgia favored and Tech pulled the unthinkable with the world backing Georgia and this year it is total opposite. The whole world is backing Tech and Georgia getting no respect and tonight is the night they just might prove it. Tech has one more important game left with an ACC championship on the line and a possible bowl bid and we see how that turned out for Clemson as they got shocked by South Carolina.Last edited by og4667; 11-28-09, 07:22 PM.Comment -

#67hey, my bankroll is approaching empty.
these "this game is so obvious" threads seem to lose almost every time. don't get me wrong, i think they're obvious too.
not that that it either game is near over, but the stanford/ND is in the same camp. stanford was completely obvious but stanford has a ton of work to do to cover (problem is they only care about winning game)Comment -
