I think I am staying away from this one, unless someone comes up with a REALLY compelling arguement.

#2UNC is weak this year, and Va Tech D is great against pro style O's. UNC's offense probably isnt that tough, since they only scored 27pts against FSU's horrid D, while sustaining a turnover advantage.
Still 16+ points is alot.Last edited by HoulihansTX; 10-28-09, 08:22 AM.Comment -

#3guy may give away that 17 points. Tough one because Beamer Ball is field position and special teams if it opens up it opens up but all Coach cares about is the win. gl

#4It all depends on which VT team shows up if they cover the -16. Am leaning towards just playing the o/u myself.Comment -

#5UNC's offense has been very poor. They have been held to 12 points or less in three games, and none of those three teams (UConn, Ga. Tech, and Virginia) have defenses nearly as good as Va.Tech's defense. If a play is to be made, you may want to consider the under. The number will be around 42, and these teams have gone under that number in 3 out of their last 4 games.Comment -

#616.5 is a lot to be laying. VT offense isn't superb either. If you factor in the fact that defense covers big spreads I'll have to lay with North Carolina as there defense is not bad at all. I can see a defensive game tomorrow night.

#7I agree BigDaddy, this has the feel of a 24-13 type of game to me. I am actually leaning towards taking the points with UNC. Everybody knows the NFL talent they lost at the WR position last season, but their real problem has been injuries along the OL. They are finally starting to get healthy there, as C Lowell Dyer appears set to make his return. VPI is at home, and typically plays well on Thursday nights at home. Having said that, I think UNC's front 7 is going to present some real problems for the Hokies. I look for Frank Beamer to keep it very conservative on offense, as UNC to this point has not shown much aptitude on that side of the ball. UNC also has a little bit of revenge and desperation going for them. Until TJ Yates was knocked out of the game last season, they had a commanding lead. The Yates injury, coupled with a series of questionable calls, allowed VPI to sneak out with a victory. I think the line is a bit inflated, and if playing the total I think I might lean towards the under.Comment -
