UTEP doesn't have anyone special on Offense, but their coach, Mike Price, is an Offensive guru with high school talent. His schemes are superior, but the talent level can't execute to the level needed. Plus UTEPs D is swiss cheese against teams with speed. UTEP was able to keep the ball out of Houston's O, due to the success of their running game that day. Houston was scoring at will, but not getting enough possessions.Comment -

#39The other good way to 'cap is looking at the play-by-play. It lets you know when a team was driving at will but not converting in the Red Zone. Or critical turnovers that happen. Those are the best friend when capping.Comment -

#41I saw parts of Houston/UTEP. It was a track meet. Both defenses didn't show, and UTEP found a running game. But they also found Houstons biggest weakness D Line.

#42Houlihans.........I never said I was betting on UTEP..........just said that UTEP seems to be the play tonight since it's a (mid-week) game..........and we ALL KNOW what happens in Mid-week games.........
Lang has to be right now and then.
I'll just stick to the Over/Under and the Phillies game.

#46I agree that Tulsa isn't as good as people think they are. They should have lost that Boise game by a lot more. But against UTEP - Tulsa seem like the logical choice. (but logical choices burn me most times)

#47Ok It was a National TV game, and only game that night. Salts argument is moot right there.
WTF are you trying to say?? Is it that Vegas would trap perspective bettors, with a line that will be sure to lure Tulsa backers??? Tulsa has been a contender in the WAC for the past 5 years. UTEP is on the opposite end of the spectrum when it comes to accomplishments. If the line opened at -10.5, which was my fair line, I would have still trounced on it.
I would argue that the opening line was set low to give the illusion of a home team with a chance. The Oddsmakers thought people would give UTEP credit for its last home win against Houston. Plus obviously get balance on the bets. Oddsmakers were wrong according to my hypothetical, and can't move line too sharply. Subsequently, to even out the bets oddsmakers would open themselves to a middle. 76% on Tulsa, while line is sitting at -8. It would take a line of about +10 to get more UTEP backers.
I know you picked Tulsa, but your word arrangement, lack of spaces, and crazy delivery threw me off.
The delivery was flawless and the word jumble of KNOW's was in reference to Princess Bride "The battle of wits has begun..what I know..he would know..you must have known" and yes it has been said that I have a "dizzying intellect". More importantly this was to discount Salty's conspiracy theory on Vegas over-thinking what the public knows because of televised games. Besides your argument is with him, we are both on Tulsa. We are both in agreement that Vegas set the line at where they saw even money.Everyone has jumped Tulsa to move it more. You like it to -10 and I like it to -12. People calling the ML on UTEP are the Quiets who shout it today and then say nothing tomorrow when they get drug. 37-13 final tonight good guys.

#52Wow...guess the bookies really made their money back on this one! I see most of you had Tulsa while I just had the Phillies as they pummeled the hapless dodgers... Books made some cash back! Saw several throughout the forum betting Tulsa for the quarters, half and game...Comment
