Does not matter in my opinion that Ball State is on the road, as Western Michigan is a bad team, and Ball State has been playing some very good football.

Northwestern is going to kick Minnesota ass. I would think it would be a much closer game if played at Minnesota but it is not. I am going to take Northwestern.

#330 Northwestern -12.5 is going to roll right over Minnesota. As stated in my previous post, I would think differently with this many points, as Minnesota plays much better at home than on the road, but at Northwestern, it is going to be blow out for the Wildcats in my opinion.

No, as I want to enjoy the game, and I very very rarely play a game I am excited to watch, because my plays are quite large, so it is difficult to enjoy a game when you have so much riding on it.

I like the Hurricanes a lot.

Canes have looked strong and should be stronger with expected return of LT Henderson and Center McDermott. Cane QB Morris has been sharp. Heel QB Renner expected back, but he will be welcomed by one of the best pass defenses in college football. Heels miss RB Bernard big time. He was a beast for them and looks great as a rookie in NFL.

Huge Seminole fan and leaning towards grabbing the points in Death Valley.

I haven't heard anything about the injury status of of Wildcat QB Colter and RB Mark. This was from the coaches press conference on Monday. I would guess they would play. Wildcats should put a whipping on Gophers, but I'm concerned if they (Colter/Mark) play, how effective they will be and whether they might get pulled early, with lead. Double digits of concern. Gophers can run the ball, but that's about it.

Fitzgerald, when asked about Kain Colter and Venric Mark, who both sat out part of Saturday's game due to injury: "I think both guys'll be day-to-day. We got pretty positive news on the injury front (Sunday). So we'll list them as day-to-day. Like always, we'll limit guys early in the week. But we hope to have those guys going later in the week."

When I first received my lines. I circled two games that jumped out to me. Hurricanes were one, but I'm thinking Oregon State laying 10 to Cal could be my top play.

I love Defense and that Cal Bear D is horrible. One of the worst defenses in college ball. To be fair, almost the whole team is hurt, but their horrible #'s can not be ignored.

Beaver QB Mannion has been slinging it. His aerial attack averages 418 yards a game. Mannion grew up right near Cal and will be fired up to play there. WR Brandin Cooks is his top target and that combo is deadly. Cal has Freshmens starting in the secondary and they will get exposed here. Take a hard look at this game.

Ball St burned me last week. Don't know much about Buffalo, but Umass is a joke. I try hard to look at teams plus points this time of year. Already laying points with Canes and Beavers on the road. A third road favorite like Wisky would be asking for trouble with my bets. Wisky should match up well here with their rush attack against a soft Illini rush defense. Wisky should roll, but Illinois has been doing well against spread and played better than I anticipated against UDUB @ neutral field. (I never forget my losses).

I got some more games I'm looking at, but don't want to hijack your thread. Take a look @ Oregon St and good luck with your plays.

The line movement on that game is strange. I had this @ 8 , opened at 7 1/2 and now down to 5 1/2.

WVA D is ugly , but they looked strong last home game against OK ST Cowboys. I had Ok St in that game so remembered.

My gut says Raiders roll these guys, but as mentioned above, if you play to many road favs, you'll be reloading sooner than later. I'm missing something here. Haven't watched Raiders play, line movement odd, so, I'm staying away from this game.gl

Pivotpoint my friend, this thread is yours as much as it is mine,

as I very much appreciate you taking the time and effort to share your due diligence with us. After California Head Coach Sonny Dykes threw that game with UCLA, and it is the first time in my life I have ever made that assertion, I hope the Bears lose every fcuking game as long as Dykes is the coach. As I posted previously, the announcers of the game on several occasions were also questioning if Dykes was actually trying to win the game. They were down by 20 early in the 3rd quarter and was taking the clock down to the last few ticks before snapping the ball. Then we all know they are a passing team who likes to run the no huddle, and the entire game they ran the ball directly into the center of the line, 25 times I believe for 58 yards, and never once went into the no huddle offense. Up to the UCLA game they were averaging 400+ yards a game passing, and against UCLA they ended with something like 201, and none of this had anything to do with the defense of UCLA. Then on 4th and goal at the 7 yard line, after using the first 3 downs to run the ball up the middle, Dykes has his quarterback run the ball up the gut for no gain. This is a quarterback who on the year has minus rushing yards in like 30 carries.
Yes I am angry, as I absolutely believe Dykes fixed the game, and again, the announcers also were questioning Dykes commitment to this game, so obviously others were seeing and having the same thoughts as I. It cost me a fortune.

I do not trust either West Virgina or Texas Tech, so I would stay away from the game. I have watched Texas Tech 3 times this year, and West Virgina twice. Welcome to the forum and feel free to post here anytime.

Thanks for the input, I'll stay away from that one too. Its always a double edged sword because I'm TTU alumni so I tend to think my team is more capable than the reality of the situation. Plus betting on your team is tough to watch.

One that jumped out to me is Iowa St. vs. Baylor at minus 31. Initial looks at this one scream avoid but I think there is a play here with Iowa St. +31. Initially, I reviewed the TTU and Texas games and here is my breakdown. Iowa State gives up 463 yds against Texas and almost wins that game (they did in some folks opinion). They give up 666 in total yards to a raider team who is known for their high scoring past. Although a new coach changes perspective in most cases, not with this one as Kliff Kingsbury is a product of the Mike Leach system. They gave up yards in both games and lost 1 pt to UT and 7 to Tech covering both lines. Everyone is high on Baylor and their high power offense, but does Art Briles have a much different style than Tech? Not in my opinion. The two actual football teams they have played this year in WVU and K-State put up points and didn't lose in 70-0 blow outs like the first 3 games. They are averaging over 700 yds a game, and even if they pass/run for 700, Baylor D isn't known for locking it down. Vegas is high on Baylor offense but Iowa St. is well coached and loses this game but covers.

Urban, didn't watch the UCLA/CAL game, but Dykes might really be limited with what he can do, due to injuries. That Bruin O is legit. I looked at the spread and guess you probably grabbed that + 25 and simply needed a field goal to cover.

Well, you can get it back going against Dykes this week. Got a feeling they will lay down again and the Beaver Offense is impressive. UCLA ranked #5 total Offense and OSU#15. OSU #1 ranked passing Offense should really have their way against one of the worst D's in college. Have a feeling they will really pick up the tempo in this game and expose lack of current depth with Bears.

They have to play every game and no such thing as a lock. Cal always has 1, maybe 2 games a year, usually at home, where they shock you. Wounded Bears are dangerous, but this one, not so much.

Have you heard anything about the status of Colter/Mark for Northwestern?

Seem to remember you riding BYU the past few weeks , as well as I. Laying off the Cougars when they hit the road this week against the Cougars of Houston? I was hesitant and the Freshman QB for Hou has nice #'s , but who has he played? BYU receivers Hoffman and Matthews should cause big match-up problems for Hou secondary. Those dudes are tall @ 6'4" and 6'6". I believe the tallest DB for Hou is 5'10". BYU reduced the suspension of LB Spencer Hadley. That kid likes to hit and should make a strong BYU D even stronger. BYU @ worse will make the teaser cut.

Hou original QB Piland is done. Hou has been turning games picking passes. Not sure this will come into play against tall receivers of BYU.

I have been a big fan of Texas Tech football for years and years, but after what happened to Coach Leach, it turned me off on the Texas Tech administration. I still cheer for the Red Raiders, but not as passionate about them as I was in the past. I also am not impressed by there quarterbacks this year.

As far as the Baylor/Iowa State game goes, I totally agree with you, and I really like Head Coach Rhodes. He runs an excellent program at Iowa State, as does Art Briles at Baylor. I also feel that Baylor has the best offense in college football this side of Oregon. I have watched several of there games and it is a lot of fun watching them go up and down the field. I did miss there game last week, and that was probably a good thing.

Not impressed at all by UCLA quarterback Hundley at all, as he has absolutely no touch on the ball. I feel UCLA is overrated team, but they definitely have the ability to put up points.

I had the over in the California/UCLA game and more than likely will take Oregon State just to watch them pound the shit out of the Bears.

I read on the internet that that both Colter and Mark were going to play for Northwestern.

No, I have not followed BYU at all this year. I initially was going to take them against Houston, but at the last second chose not to, as I question the secondary of BYU, and I feel Houston will be coming right at them.

Lots of tech trends point to WVA.

You are correct that coaching is huge. Great coaches attract top talent and are successful due to motivation,strategies employed and ability to make adjustments second half. Doesn't matter if you are talking Pop Warner,H.S.,College or NFL.

Al Golden for Miami is doing a great job with what I would call a wild bunch of Hurricanes. Part of the reason I like them this week. Urban Meyer is really cranking up the Buckeyes and I might have to look at them a little stronger, but 17 is a lot. Nick Sabin is one of the best and Bobby Bowden made me a big Seminole fan, even though he's gone now. I could go on, but the way I see it, those guys cash tickets.

Let's be honest, without those coaches you're basically betting on 20 year old kids. Some possess great talent, but, many are dumb as rocks, need to be reined in and aggression focused. Discipline!

I've been riding LSU all season. No play for you on them? LSU usually means a trip to the cashier. Failed only once this year laying a huge # to Kent St which I avoided. Other than that, rock solid. Was on Rebs last week, but that D is growing weaker. LSU clicking on O and D seems to be growing stronger as Reb D sliding after coming off some real tough games. Rebs should have tougher time against a Tiger D that is stronger than Aggie D.

I agree with RavensFan2k3. If I was going to question any of your NFL plays it would be the Lion game as they make to many mental mistakes, and I think the Bengals are just a much better team.

I love throwing haymakers at the book. Majority of my funds are invested in straight bets, as I imagine you. Guys snicker @ big parlays cards. I bet not many would want the risk of taking that action. Hell, I'd flinch.

It's always one game that get's me.

Last weekend I lost one on Sat and another monster on Sun. Both were lost in the final seconds of the game.

Stanford ML on Sat. Saints + 2 on Sunday. That Saints game was the most painful. It's never over till it's over, but damn, I was almost counting the cash and Brady snatched it from my out reached hand. No hard feelings though, I'll be on Brady this weekend against Jets. I'll get them this week.
