Point me to the line where I said the Hokies are a lock. I don't think they are. But I think the chances of their covering are better than not, based on what I've seen of FSU when they are away from their home field. If I lose this bet, I will not be in "hibernation." I will cap another game tomorrow, and the next day, and the next...that's how it works.
Virginia Tech will surprise the 'Noles tonight

#37Machine, been with you the last two games, but on the Noles tonight. Should be a good game.
Watched some of the press video on FSU site. Players have had it drilled into their head about road stats, Thur night history and VT home performance YTD. They will be ready.
Not sure how people can trust Thomas. He scares no one with his arm. I posted FSU defensive stats below.
Logan rush stats looked good, but dig deeper.
Back out the one 73 yard scramble up the middle and you have the following vs Canes
LOGAN 21 CARRIES FOR 51 YARDS = 2.4 YARDS PER RUSH
LOGAN BARELY BROKE 50% COMPLETION RATE
LOGAN 2 INT'S
These were all in their most recent Thur home game.
Curious how one would think they would perform better this week vs a superior defense ?
I'm pasting these #'s below from a previous thread I started.
Last year FSU played one Thur nite game and Bitch slapped BC @ Chapel Hill 38-7 !
Now, I don't have to look back very far ( last week) to view Hokies Thur nite performance.
They lost big on the board and stats were ugly
For a big dude at 6'6" his passes are soft. Seminole Defense will be ready for his scrambling and won't allow him to break the big one and pad his stats.
I won't even get into the superior Nole Defense. Manuel head and shoulders above Thomas.
From Roto-World.
Virginia Tech junior QB Logan Thomas completed 19-of-37 passes for 199 yards and two interceptions against Miami on Thursday night.
Thomas did most of his damage on the ground, taking 22 carries for 124 yards and a touchdown, including a long scoring run of 73 yards. Yes, the junior was hurt by a handful of crucial drops, but Thomas made some terrible throws on his own. The Hokie is not comfortable as a passer, failing to use the correct amount of velocity to shape passes over defenders. Nov 2 - 9:19 AM
Tech loss to Miami really showed big advantages for Hurricanes.
24-15 First Downs. 225 -157 Rushing yards edge.
Manuel head and shoulders above VT qb Thomas whose 13 TD's and eye opening 12 picks, beyond weak. 12 picks, wow. FSU defense stout and they should get a pick or two.
NOLES Defense
#3 RUN
#4 PASS
#1 TOTAL DEFENSE
#3 SCORING
#3 PASS EFFICENCY
Manuel #2 QB.

I woulda thought that you'd have learned your lesson by now. Every single time you become uppity, you end up having to go into hibernation for a couple of Nuclear Winters. After checking the latest NOAA weather forecast, I'm predicting that the latest front will be blowing through here before midnight-thirty.Comment -

If you'd like, when I have more time, I'll post a compilation of my favorite ** Breakdowns.
Would you like for me to do that, so that all of the newbies here can gain a better understanding of you, your methods, your desperate craving for approval?Comment -

Same to you. I enjoy reading your writeups. Respect people that dig into the stats a bit deeper.
It doesn't always pay off, but long term it does.
To many clowns start threads with all in or lock of the century with no data to support. You have to wonder if some guys are simply flipping coins. Oh well, it's their money.
Not sure what others are talking about regarding condescending?
Post your pick and the REASONING behind the choice is all one can ask. Nothing wrong with defending a position that has been researched.
Keep up the solid capping and good luck this weekend.

Any write up is miles better than the ever tiresome "LOCK" threads. Machine's write ups (I've only seen 4 so far) seem to spark decent discussions. Keep it going Machine.

#62Seriously have you added anything of value to this thread? If you disagree with this guy’s pick, then state your reasons why you disagree with him. Not sure why you want to attack him in his thread. We don’t care about your personal issues. I come to check out different opinions and angles for games. Not some past nonsense that you keep pulling up. If you don’t like the guy, just don’t post anything in his thread. Stop cluttering the thread.Comment -

#65why anyone takes stuff personal from people on here still puzzles the fuq out of me. if you post plays on here you will hear it from someone. so. if you can't take the bs then why bother? if its not worth your time then forget about it. but i enjoy reading up on machines threads and its good that he is here. i hope he realizes that it doesn't matter what anyone says. you post plays. you will get a reaction.
i also like laughing at some of the members here and its mandatory to fuq with them. its funny really.. i don't contribute here other then to harass bradley retard, but I'm not obligated to do anything. i think people need to realize that... this a public forum and anyone has the right to say and do what they please.
so everyone = stop being pu$$ies and have fun. talk trash. put in input on a game. its up to who ever reads this stuff to take whatever in. guys need to stop being so uptight. who cares wtf are we paid to do this shit? noComment -

#67not sure why people are giving you a hard time. this pick is not a bad pick when you look at the home/road stats for each time...lets run through some numbers.
Fl st road numbers vs. techs home numbers
yds/pt 15.4-12.7
pts/play 0.373-0.458
RZ% 92.86-100
3rd down % 27.5-38.1
opp yds/pt 15.8-23.9
opp pts/play 0.247-0.169
opp RZ % 100!!!!!!-66.67
opp 3rd % 28.57-31.91
looking at these numbers, and throw in HF advantage, the value is with Vtech. especially when the public is pounding FSU and the line is dropping. i have fsu -12.5 at my book. i dont understand the bashing on others that post their opinions. everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
edit: if you look at these key numbers, you see that the only advantage FSU has is on opponent 3rd down conversion %. throw in the fact that FSU's strength of schedule is 108 vs. tech's 46 based on sagarins you can see that FSU had a walk in the park the early part of the season.
