Anyone watched any tape on this Chico Camus guy yet? Looks like Pague's line could be quite nice against a promotional newcomer unless he's a killer.

#145Ive seen a few of his matches on youtube. He fights out of Roufusport so you know hes training with some top notch guys. From what I've seen in his videos hes got pretty decent standup and ground. Not much of a mover on the ground though more of a lay and pray.Comment -

Shields, however, admitted he felt weakened by the altitude of Denver and wished he would have arrived sooner to acclimate. But he hopes that by Saturday, he will be as close as possible to 100 percent.
"It's been a little tougher than I thought, but I'm definitely glad I came out a little bit earlier," he said. "Yesterday, I finally had a decent workout. The first few days, I was struggling. I have a couple more days. I'm going to train hard tonight and hope that I'll feel a lot more adjusted.
"I don't think I'm going to be 100 percent on Saturday, but as long as I can be close enough."Comment -

#149I'm still leaning Henderson a bit but think Edgar should give him a run for his money. I'm thinking because it's a rematch, the u4.5 rnd prop might not be such a bad play. Tough to imagine either guy getting finished but in rematches finishes are so prevalent.Comment -

#151Cerrone by Dec +262
Melvin has a decent chin and Cerrone will throw leg kicks for three rounds.
Cerrone is a mental midget in my opinion. He got out head gamed by Diaz. Who the f knows how he will compete against his 'friend'
in addition, we have seen Melvin look lackluster against sluggers in Stephens,Comment -

#154think Shields might be trying to mislead Herman. I think probably his best chance is to turn this into a grapplefest. Maybe an over aggressive/pushing the pace Herman creates more shoot opportunities for Shield where he get dominate position and work it that way. I also find it too odd for Shields to let that type of info out w/o it having a purpose.Comment -

You could be right though, I do have a feeling that them being buddies is going to affect it and it could well go to a decision.Comment -

#156I don't agree that he has a good chin - sure he hasn't been knocked out cold, but he has been getting dropped lately (the Lauzon jab, Condit's flash KO of him in training). The worry there is of course that if Cerrone were to drop him, the chances of him getting subbed are astronomical.
You could be right though, I do have a feeling that them being buddies is going to affect it and it could well go to a decision.
But you're right about him getting dropped by Jabs both Lauzon and Joe Stevenson dropped him with jabs. Ever since that boxing KO he's been getting dropped by small punches that's why he stays on the outside and leaps in with his punches. I could definitely see Cerrone getting knockout or submission in this fight it just depends on Cerrone's attitude coming into the fight, the history with guillard and the greg jackson training camp and what sort of strategy jackson has for guillard. For all we know Jackson would not want Cerrone to knock him out cold, his strategy may very well be likely to keep it a point by point striking and takedown clinic for 3 rounds.Comment -

I think his leaping in and out is really counter intuitive. When people are scared of him it works, because they try and move away from him rather than planting their feet and countering. The Lauzon fight is a prime example, Melvin's face hits Lauzon's short jab with all of his momentum and he just doesn't have the chin to take that kind of a blow.Comment -

#159“Wow you and Melvin??? I was like ‘he took the fight??? after all those ass whoopin’s I seen with my own eyes in training!!!?” Sanchez Tweeted.
Greg Jackson wouldn’t elaborate on Sanchez’s revealing Tweet, but did want to clarify his thoughts on the “Fredo-like” act of discussing family business with people outside the family.
“Donald is a phenomenal fighter and an amazing athlete but I’m not going to go and say who does what in sparring,” says Jackson. “Because if I do that it sets this precedent where now everybody’s worried about sparring and ‘what’s Wink going to say,’ ‘what’s Greg going to say.’ So for me, sparring is a sacred thing you really shouldn’t have to think about. Like, ‘uh oh I had a really bad day.’ I know how it is myself. I did two rounds today and I’m thinking ‘Good Lord when did it start getting so hard?’ But maybe next Tuesday I’ll have a better day. That’s why I never talk about who does what in sparring.”
Cowboy however, makes it pretty clear that his experience in the gym with Melvin inspires confidence.
“Training with the guy -- if you push him -- even in his fights, when he’s down and he starts doubting himself he breaks pretty easy, he folds up a little bit. But I hope a confident Melvin shows up. I want the best Melvin they got. If he thinks he can beat me, that’s great, I’m here and I want to see it. Just tell Melvin ‘I’m coming to whip your ass.’”Comment -

#161+269 on Guillard right now, there's got to be some value in that bet? At least I give the stand up advantage to Guillard, and as long as the fight doesn't go to the ground, he should be able to deal with the cowboy.Comment -
