If enough people are up for it and someone can set it up that would be great. Would like to get some discussion going about regarding some fights without having to worry about the books watching.

#4One, this isn't the only forum that helps linesmakers spot "soft" lines.
Two, give the linemakers credit. They're simply catching up to MMA on their own. Creating secret handicapper societies will only do so much.Comment -

#7I would definitely like to see other mma handicapping forums also that are at this level. Reality is this is SBR, a sports betting forum, not just an MMA forum where you can talk about betting.. huge difference as to who is going to be watching.
Not that its a contest or anything, but I knew years ago we were being watched here and its only hurting the handicapper, especially with the months and months of great matchups for the fans being made.. not ideal for the bettor.Comment -

#9ive been going to covers for awhile, never even looked at their forums ha. Their mma section is pretty busy.
Looks like their dedicated mma forum didnt open until sept 2011, unless it's just not tracking threads older than that.Comment -

#11How to keep it private though? Who's to say if a book wanted in they couldnt create a screen name and get in. I'm for it in principle but how would this work?Comment -

#19I've said it before. If you guys really feel this way then why not disinform and create super awesome lines?
The linesmakers don't really care what sbr thinks about mma because anyone that is capable of winning long term will be limited.Comment -

#20mma ML's gouge the fuk out of fav's anyways. A highschool dropout could set these lines with all the juice. Not even worth screwing around with openers at such shitty limits. Just wait till the public screws the line up and take the underdog. I mean this is MMA. You just got to find the dogs that pay. Betting favorites over -250 is a waste of time.Comment -

#22I think large bets above $10,000 should be kept in private cat, that effects the lines and value.Comment -

yes, there are times when i have an absolutely terrible event because of an upset (i.e., bader vs tito), but overall i've done quite well the past 2 years. prior to 2 years ago, i used to play dogs much heavier. linesmakers didnt know what they were doing. but nowadays its much harder to find good dogs.Comment -

this is what im saying man, especially with heavy favorites (-300 or greater).
although, if you look at winning % in zuffa events vs. non-zuffa, you will find that dogs do much better in the smaller events.Comment -
