#283ha yeah Martinez looks much thickerOriginally posted by MMAbetMASTAMartinez also looked much bigger than bernardo.. Was having second thoughts about payng the juice on him at -200 but now feeling a little better after seeing those pics..
That is a lot of shoulder and back generated punching power for a thinner, leaner bernado to take....
My senior year of high school my friends and I used to get together and box in my backyard, and like an idiot my skinny 5'10 145lb ass stepped up to box my buddy mike who is 5'7 200 lbs and has some of the widest shoulders I've ever seen.
He laid me out in 20 seconds haha...Comment -

#284Really wanted to play Pierce + Rocha SOTN and/or Rocha sub but doesn't look like Dimes is offering SOTN props... or any props for Pierce-Rocha. I'm leaning Pierce -- Think folks are overvaluing Rocha's first round against Ellenberger a lil bit. Rocha does have reeedonkulous transitions and subs which is why I wanted to get a little SOTN action because if he grabs a sub, it may be a thing of beauty... ah well.Comment -

#289Bernardo also a 2x ametuer boxing and muai thai champ???
Also, I read on some prediction article that in addition to being a renowned bjj artist, bernado is a ameuture boxing titlist and a two time muai thai champ???? Can anyone confirm this???
I've had second thoughts about martinez ever since I made the play (read some interesting things from bernardo backers saying he was on a serious 'off' night against means), and now that I'm reading this it really has me scared.
But then again this same prediction article (below) said salas is the superior striker lol and will outstrike means... and I also say a couple other things in the article that I really disagreed with so perhaps this guy is just talking out of his ass?

#298I capped him at -200 and played at -155, so I'm happy with it but for some reason I have bad gut feelings on both he and martinez... Not going huge, but if I lose either one or especially both I am gonna hve a really bad night which I can't take right now, so I really need to have these guys come through or else I'm in some trouble... Not to jinx any of this, just more skeptical and nervous on these two than usual.... #300Yea I am more skeptical on martinez, and as long as papazian comes through I will be even or in profit.
Plus, people didn't really bring this up but jared's fight with jimmie 'el terror' rivera was damn close, many people thought papazian should have won the title in that for more damage and what not. I think rivera is the best 135er not in the ufc, and I also think beating cullum is a pretty big accomplishment as well. Put that in with the war with easton and I can't see pague giving papazian more trouble than any of these 3, as I think jared's past 3 opponents also beat pague... That's just mma math which usually don't mean shit but I think it works here and is my biggest reasoning for backing papazian.Comment -

I think it is an easy fight for Martinez, too, a little gift to get him on the W column, (I feel the same with the Papazian fight. They want him around, so they gave him an easy fight. They could have just cut Pague after his first loss) Only way Bernarndo wins is if Martinez is gassed out after the first round... With a full camp, I hope he will be in shape. Luca thinks with the weight cut, he will gas faster, but I hope it's the opposite... with a full camp, I hope he doesn't gas fast... I expect him to put Bernardo away early, but if not, manage to win 2 dominant rounds at least.
But you shouldn't really pay attention to what I say, since you think I'm full of shit.Comment -

Let's not get into that anymore as we've both said our pieces and both went a little overboard... Its all gravy baby we have our differences, still don't like you all that much haha and I'm sure you don't like me, but in the meantime it can't hurt for us to bounce ideas off eachother, especially since we both have the same picks and both will be losing our asses if they don't come through. #304Also, on the Papa/Pague fight--
I think Papazian could easily beat John Albert, and John Albert easily beat Pague. Pague was a HUGE underdog against Albert, but is barely a dog against Papazian... I really love the line + chances w/ Papazian. I think people not pounding it are going to regret. #305I think the opposite as I believe 155 is closer to his optimum weight so think his cardio should be better. At 170 he is podgy, while his cut to 155 is not difficult...he was 163 over a week ago. He is intending to go to 145 in future which probably would drain him to a point where he gasses quicker, but at 155 im hoping its his optimal weight for getting best cardio (although obviously he'd have the size and strength advantage at 145lbs).Originally posted by gabeYeah dude, Pague is an easy fight for him IMO-- I believe if we had seen them fight a couple more times in the UFC before this, the line would be more like -325/+245 or something like that...
