    Stipe Miocic vs. Joey Beltran
Just trying to do my homework on this fight before the lines come out and seeing what you guys think. I can't find too much film of Miocic but from the little i've seen he has big power but poor technique/footwork as well as questionable striking defense.

His pedigree looks good as both a D-1 wrestler and a Golden Gloves champ but I can't find much else on him and he hasn't fought anyone even close to UFC caliber.

Wondering if any of you know anything else, just doing my due dilligence.

Anyone named "The Mexicutioner" is no one I'd want to bet against.

        Depends on the odds.

He has Mirko copycat shorts, a cool name, and a green plastered win column page on wikipedia... what more reason does one need?!

He has looked good, but hasn't fought any elite competition yet and Beltran is a tough first fight and he has a granite chin. When i watched the Stipe/Penn fight I immediately thought of a CroCop/Brett Rogers knockoff re-enactment. Funny stuff. I have a feeling his odds won't be too tasty though considering his credentials. A lot of questions going into this one that we don't have answers to just yet... maybe someone has more insight?

Beltran was +165 dog against Rosa so imagine he'll be at least that against a Golden Gloves champ and NCAA wrestler!

I remember when a heralded prospect by the name of Rolles Gracie was a -1000 over Beltran... so unless I get some quality footage on Stipe to assess the stylistic matchup with my own eyes, I ain't fading the Mexicutioner...

Exactly how I feel. But if money keeps coming in on Beltran I may put down a few units.

Rolles Gracie was/is very one-dimensional though, at least Miocic is not only a high level wrestler but also a Golden Gloves Champ

If Miocic hits -170 I think I'm making the play.
