Ajose defeats Chebah
Earns title shot in WBC eliminator

In an important WBC super lightweight eliminator, unbeaten #1 contender Olusegun Ajose (30-0, 14 KOs) scored an entertaining twelve round unanimous decision over #6 ranked Ali Chebah (33-2, 26 KOs) at the Chumash Casino Resort in Santa Ynez, Calif. With a mandatory shot at world champion Erik Morales going to the winner, the fighters let it all hang out early on, trading big shots for the first four rounds the opening bell. Ajose dropped Chibah twice in round three. Both fighters were staggered in round four. After that, Ajose used his mobility looking to outbox the advancing Chebah and largely succeeding. Scores were 120-106, 119-107, 119-107.Comment -
the scores weren`t really indicative of the caliber of fight that we saw last night...it was a war...chebah never quit and imo,was dangerous right up until the 11th....
can`t remember a fighter with better stamina and work rate than ajose....not a huge puncher...the guy slaps too much....he`s wide with some shots...but he also comes straight down the middle with hurtful shots....he works the body hard and has inhuman endurance...he set a crazy pace and it really didn`t lag very much......
