ya great move, I personally was hoping for something different since this one was only a week away but its brilliant business move.

Hopefully they spice up 139 with one of the rumored guys.

Couldn't start off w/ a better fight. This one is really hard to call too. I already have 5u on JDS though as a dog and I'm sticking w/ it.

I took max limits on Cain as soon as the line came out as a dog. Could hedge but I like cain to win.

You guys don't think jds can keep it standing and will get the best of Cain in the stand-up?

I love JDS for this fight....he has great TDD and I give him the edge in the stand up.

We have seen Cain get rocked before and he immediately went into survival wrestling mode. If Kongo could have defended the take down, he could have put Cain away early.

Should be a fantastic fight though since Cain will always try to press the action.

Squareguy... While I agree with everything else you said we haven't really seen enough to say that JDS has great TDD. People point to the Carwin fight but his wrestling is extremely overrated in my opinion, and he's the only semblance of a wrestler JDS has faced.

still pretty curious how the rest of the card is gonna shape up... Basicly 8-9 prelims.. I cant see anymore barnburners added to the card but who knows? theres no way Tito and Rich are co main.. There saving that for PPV.

Carwin was a Div 2 National Champion and NCAA Hall of Famer....but it is probably correct that Cain will be a bigger challenge in that respect.

I'm really excited to see how this one plays out.

I hope the rest of the fox cards have a longer slot than just an hour...maybe Fox agreed to test the waters first and that's why we are getting two huge names and a heavy weight belt.

I would hope so... Though given the timeframe of this first event, most of the timeslots were probably already locked down, I'm presuming... so even getting an hour may have been tough...

All I know is that I'm calling for Korean Zombie on the prelims... I'll lay a few SBR points on it ;p

Throw away all american/ D1 or D2 champion BS. Shane and Cain were completely different style wrestlers. People laugh but there are many types of wrestling "styles" Believe me if you want, but Cain V was one of those heavyweights that could take down opponents by shooting in on a sigle or double leg. Most heavyweights typically go or tend to favor upper body/greco style.
Cain seriously is about a 170lber trapped in a heavyweight frame/ body. If he wants to take anyone down, he will.

Cain is going to gas Junior out! Seriously if you're going to make a play on Junior then you need to bet Junior by KO. Because if Junior can't knockout Cain I see absolutely no way he wins this fight. In fact I think people are going to be shocked at how easy Cain beats Dos Santos.

There is little doubt in my mind that Cain will be able to take Down JDS, almost at will. After the Brock fight he said in an interview in his mind he knew he had won the fight as soon as he took Brock down. Even if JDS is able to get up, its going to gas him out before long. JDS has gassed from much less.

The only way I see JDS winning this is by K.O and I doubt that is going to happen after seeing Cain run head first into Kongo's power shots and recover almost instantly.

Completely agree.. I know Carwin's credentials, however i've never been impressed with his wrestling within the realm of MMA, ala Mark Munoz. On the other hand Cain has impressed the shit out of me. Watching heavyweights who can shoot well makes me . Can't wait to see this one.

Even more suprised to see this on free tv after hearing UFC 134 only did like 270K PPV buys. UFC has bee getting weak buys of late and this one would have been a decent draw

last 10 events only two got over 500K PPV buys

Probably the biggest HW fight in the UFC history.

In terms of sheer talent at HW, I have to agree. Two of the best of the best collide!
I can only hope it goes longer than 1 rd.

That's what i am hoping too Sirchad, i think the only way this fight can end at the first round is JDS knocking out Velasquez. Although i think that Cain is going to gas Junior out in the first two rounds with takedowns and take advantage of his better cardio in the rounds remaining...
