Mayweather doesn't get the credit he deserves
We take all of his performances for granted and just expect it. Almost every time he goes out there lately the performances have been unreal. He bitch smacked marquez. He stomped shane mosley's face in. We just expect greatness from this guy so we just treat it like it's supposed to happen. So eluvise/slick/tricker/quick/technical it's unreal.

Tell you watched that video and didn't get goosebumps. If so you're probably a hater or not human. The champ is here.

His talent is amazing but he doesn't take the tough fights when he should

Aside from Manny who has he ducked? Some will say Margarito, but at the time Antonio couldn't sell tickets outside of Mexico. Add in what we all learned about Margarito being a cheating shitbag, Floyd was smart to pass. The Pac fight will likely happen in 2012. To say Floyd is not the best boxer of his era is flat out dumb.

What a stupid fukkin statement to make... because Pacman has fought more cans and refuses to take a steroid test.

God boxing fans are beyond stupid...they believe whatever the media says. Sheep.

Just because he markets himself as the bad guy doesn't mean he's a can crusher.

Ducking manny is huge. Ducking margarito. Didn't fight cotto.

Marquez was small and he came in overweight for that.

              Baldomir was a joke

Shane was too old although it seemed like it could have been good.

I understand sometimes business and circumstance doesn't dictate the best opponents but Floyd makes too many excuses and retires too much.

Floyd ducked margarito and manny took the fight. That's says a lot.

Floyd is easily the most talented but he is too picky about his fights

Manny took Margarito because Arum told him to and it was an easy fight. When Margarito was in his heyday, Floyd should've fought him. If Margarito was an Arum fighter at the time(not sure if he was), that would be reason fight didn't happen. Cotto is an Arum fighter and before he got blasted by Margarito and Manny(both Arum controlled fighters) there is no way in he'll he was going to get his Felix Trinidad wannabe dismantled by a fighter who left him(Floyd). Boxing is all about the politics. Not the fighters. Take the promoters away from it and Floyd and Manny would've fought already.

manny`s opponents(with the exception of his early fights with marquez) have been carefully selected...matter of fact, roach is one of theee best at steering a career....all guys well past their primes...or after taking beatings from other fighters...

look at "the great" lucian bute...i keep hearing he`s the best super middleweight in the world.......i ask based on what?.....not his resume....

the outrage is selective as usual....mayweather`s talent is undeniable...not sure whether his "public" attitude is a facade or whether he really has the mentality of a spoiled, coddled million dollar athlete....he seems to revel in his "bad guy" image...

we`ll find out after he retires....because if he`s the a-hole i believe him to be,all that money will go bye-bye and he`ll be back in the ring as a faded, washed up ex-great...like tyson...

Manny is fighting marquez now at a similar weight class this year so if you don't give floyd credit for that win than you can't give manny credit for the win if he wins. Marquez already beat pacquiao in the 2nd fight but no pacquiao fans will admit it. Bob arum payed off the judges it was a horrible decision.

Solid post with good arguments. It just seems like floyd is the guy who is the face of the business and politics of boxing.

Typically every fighter has to get through tough fights on their way to a title, Floyd has fought decent competition, his impressive win over Genaro Hernandez gets overlooked by many. Floyd has simply outclassed everyone he's faced saved the first Castillo fight, but came back in the rematch and outclassed Castillo. His defense is what has set him apart from any fighter out there.
