I remember reading this a couple years back, but could never verify officially. However he is listed as a NCAA Div VIII wrestler on Wiki and has been for a while now. Either way, we've all seen his wrestling come into play in many fights against those less fortunate on the ground.

Division VIII? Does that even exist, and if it does, is it even relevant? I think someone's taking a jab at Kongo.

It's been that way for a while though and usually the guys at Wiki take that stuff down promptly in error.

I've also read about him having a Greco Roman background in the past, but can't find jack on it now.

The only thing holding Kongo back in this one is his Fight IQ. Lucky for him Barry's isn't anything to brag on either.

I can assure you that Kongo never wrestled at a high school or college in USA whether it be Div 1 or Div 501 level! He trained in Greco-roman wrestling for a short-period when he was younger

Unfortunately, they don't. That's why you can never rely on Wiki as a credible source of information. Eliot Marshall was listed as an NCAA Div 1 wrestler for about three months.

Yeah only gets edited if somebody flags it, I doubt anybody has flagged the Kongo being a Div 8 wrestler because they either don't care or find it very funny!!
