Has to be genetics. Some people just have an easier time cutting weight and your right... he stays really lean for cutting all the weight he does.

I actually kind of like Hardy in this fight, Rumble really hasnt fought anyone yet in his career. I just think Hardy has the experience to win this, and Johnson hasnt fought in so long.

I don't think the long layoff for AJ will affect the outcome of the fight. I still see AJ dominating hardy in any aspect of the fight.

tough fight to call because of the long layoff for AJ .. but i believe the right man is favored in this one.. might make a small play...

this is a toughie,imo..really interesting fight.....i remember kevin burns somewhat holding his own in stand-up vs johnson....so johnson took him down in the second go-round....i think that`s what he should do here...

if hardy can stay standing,i think he has a real chance to make it interesting...and maybe outlast johnson...johnson is one of those guys with limitless physical potential...but something`s missing...

his wins aren`t really over scary competition...yoshida/burns/speer/fiorvanti......not exactly a murderers row....

what hardy has that makes him dangerous is his sneakiness(with that counter left hook), his mental toughness...and his cardio....if he were smart,he spent his whole camp defending takedowns...his stand-up has to hold water here...on the ground he`s lost......and the longer it goes, the better..he`s staring at 3 losses in a row..he won`t get cut,but 3 in a row makes him irrelevant.....he can forget about a condit rematch....he becomes a gatekeeper...

                  johnson`s weight-cutting issues are legendary..given that,he can fade...

i think we find out whether hardy is mostly talk(figuratively) here....i mean he`s a tough guy,no doubt...but it`s very hard being a totally one-dimensional serious contender in this division in the ufc(unless you`re a lights-out grappler).....tonight will tell us an awful lot about hardy...

                  should be interesting...

Both fights he had against Kevin Burns highlighted one of Johnson's main problems: he doesn't deal well with getting hit, or even the thought of getting hit. It's unusual, but for all of his offensive capabilities, he just seems to freak out when people wing punches at him. Johnson took Burns down repeatedly, despite the fact that he was easily out-landing - and subsequently hurting - Burns in the stand-up. He was essentially resorting to takedowns just because Burns came charging at him, windmilling insane punches. Similarly, Johnson looked really out of sorts when Koscheck landed punches on him in their fight, even though Johnson was the cleaner striker and had staggered Koscheck with numerous shots. We saw the same thing on the ground against Koscheck, too: Johnson got hit with a few elbows and looked really rattled.

Hardy - though not a one-shot kill artist - is still the best technical striker Johnson has ever faced. Unless Johnson has addressed the aforementioned issue, he could be in for some trouble in the stand-up, which is why I think he might end up relying heavily on his wrestling to grind out a decision.

i think we basically agree...but i think that counter left hook of hardy`s can pretty much ruin anyone`s night...

technically,he has excellent stand-up...and truthfully,he may have learned something vs condit...condit isn`t a home run hitter per se...i think dan was a little too fearless in that fight...and it cost him....

i just think something`s missing with johnson...physically,he`s on par with jones and davis...but like yogi said,"Baseball is 90% mental -- the other half is physical." .........

                      that`s hardy`s biggest advantage,imo...his mental toughness.....

this is the main event, for me...lil nog just has wayyy too much trouble with wrestlers....just love this match-up...

Yeah, it's definitely an intriguing match-up. The stand-up portion of the fight is what interests me the most, because in spite of Johnson's aversion to getting hit, he's still a very clean striker. I would actually really like to see Hardy surprise Johnson and go for a takedown here; Johnson showed zero guard instincts against Clementi in his debut, and hadn't improved a scintilla in that regard when he fought Koscheck two years later.

I had high hopes for this fight . You would think Dan would have done nothing but takedown defense. Dan needs to go to London Shoot in the worst way LSF can wrestle .... AJ didnt gas easy money congrats to the AJ backers. Even if you hate Dan Hardy like i do you kinda have to feel bad hes almost done nothing in this fight but some weak as kimura attempts

The only thing that sucks is that they gave Hardy a title shot without testing his wrestling defense. Johnson said he was going to stand and he didn't do much standing up. Those that bet Hardy assumed the fight would take place mostly on the feet.

I don't think they will cut him either. I'd like to see him fight Amir Sadollah maybe if they want a stand up fight.

i give dan a real shot vs sadollah...while johnson still had some petrol in the tank,he was way too technical for amir.....amir stemrolled him in the second after he gassed...

sadollah`s stand-up looked very basic...the kicks were nice...but his stand-up consisted of him rushing forward and just flailing...

that`s gravy to a striker like hardy with those counters...

that is unless sadollah takes him down...then all bets are off....i think dan is allergic to the canvas....maybe he could fight on vinyl?...
