I think ppl take what Dana says much too seriously. He says a lot of things to hype fights. "this is do or die", "its a must win", yada, yada, yada. He is a promoter guys, this is his job. He's not going to say, ahh whatever, if Machida loses 3 in a row its no big deal. He needs to make the fight mean something to the ppl. He isnt going to cut Machida. You could hear him getting more and more deflated while chuck was getting beat up. That was a weird fight. Chuck was getting beat up so bad that his corner threw the towel in to stop the fight! Personally I think DW is full of shit, there is no way that he is going to let Machida go to strikeforce. He is a top fighter that I hope learned a lesson from the Jackson fight, and hopefully he takes a few chances from now on and dosen't just hang back for 3 rounds trying to pop in and get a quick counter and the jump back out. Rampage pushed the action for the first 2 rounds and controlled the ring, thats why he won the fight. By the 3rd round Machida had to do something and he almost won, but he should have came out like that during the first round. Machida is not going to get cut and he will be in the UFC for a long time.

That being said this is a bad matchup for him. No one has ever really grinded Machida out, and randy might be able to. If he presses the action and keeps him on the fence and uses his dirty boxing I could see randy taking a decision win away. And the judges are on the side of the old man - see vera fight.
