Either way id say maynard definitely deserves a rematch. But the sooner I can bet pettis to beat maynard or edgar the better.

I cant imagine maynard losing the belt to a draw and being forced to take another fight, that would be pretty cold. Has that happened to anyone else in a title fight?

Whats really shitty too is edgar is going to be on medical suspension for at least 3 or 4 months, 6 at the most probably. So the belt will probably be on the shelf past 129.

F gray maynard. hes the most boring asshole around. surely they wont give him an immediate rematch. let gray fight ben henderson, george s., or sign kawajiri and let him fight him. something besides an immediate rematch.

I couldn't even get passed that fight with Diaz vs the penile named dude. Cure for insomnia that was. I'll take your word for it, though I kind of doubt those two snoozers put on a good fight. Also there were no "name" fighters, good fights only matter if the person has a name before hand.

I think Pettis has a really good chance. I mean considering how well rounded he is.. His has good defense vs. wrestlers. And he is very good off his back. His striking is going to present some problems for Frankie I believe. But we'll see.

Pettis has never fought in a UFC ring before (which are bigger) and I don't see pettis imposing his striking on someone as quick and elusive as frankie. Will be a good fight for sure but I think frankie wins unanimously.

maynard is going to get his rematch eventually, hes onbviously at the top of the division. i htink pettis should be next because theres a pretty big possibility for a edgar/maynard 4 in the future at this rate.

Im glad they are doing the rematch. I would have been ashamed of the UFC if they didnt. A guy fights to a draw in a title fight and you dont do a rematch... unheard of.

I dont think its even fair to let edgar take the belt home, he didnt win it.

I agree with the champ retaining his title if it's a draw, but for sure Maynard deserves an immediate rematch. You can't have a title fight ending with no closure and then not set up the rematch. Sucks for Pettis if he'll have to fight another tough opponent who could possibly ruin his title shot (like Grispi/Poirier... though as Rogan said it's lucky for Grispi he wasn't facing Aldo last night), but the Edgar/Maynard rubber match needs to happen right away.

A lot of people have never trained in MMA and don't realize exactly how hard it is to get out from under someone who is a BJJ black belt.. or any belt from that matter.
