    Snapper's MMA Picks
    UFC 125 Picks:
    Frank Edgar +135, 1u
    Clay Guida -149, 1.49u
    Dong Hyun Kim -116, 1.16u
    Brandon Vera +125, 1u

Frank Edgar vs. Gray Maynard: Frankie Edgar is an excellent and underrated fighter. He beat B.J. Penn twice, and BJ Penn dominated the lightweight division for a long time. His striking has improved a lot from the last time that he fought Maynard and I think he will find a way to win here. He will manage to avoid the takedowns and outstrike Maynard. Edgar's cardio is fantastic while Maynard has never fought 5 rounds before. This will be a huge factor in Edgar's favour in the later rounds as he gains a decision victory and beats the only man who ever beat him.

Clay Guida vs. Takanori Gomi: Gomi is a good striker but a lousy ground fighter. He was helpless when Kenny Florian got on top of him. Guida is an excellent wrestler. He will take Gomi down and show how over-rated Gomi really is. Pride is dead! The UFC fighters are way better than the old Pride fighters.

Dong Hyun Kim vs. Nathan Diaz: Nathan Diaz can't handle wrestlers. He proved that against Big Daddy Stevenson. Dong Hyun Kim is a good wrestler. Enough said.

Brandon Vera vs. Thiago Silva: Vera is an excellent striker, much better than Silva. He has good enough wrestling to avoid Silva taking him down, as he proved against Couture. Vera will pick Silva apart in a kick-boxing contest and show what an under-rated fighter he really is.

I like your picks and analysis. The thing that concerns me with Vera is his mental state, especially coming off losses. If his mind is right I think he has good chances to win a decision but Silva is the mentally tougher fighter, as Vera seems to crumble when things don't go his way. If Silva lands a punch early on, even if it's not a knockout punch, Vera may not recover.

        Best of luck!
I like Edgar as well. I'm personally staying away from the Sila/Vera fight. I think the books have this line dead on.

UFC "Fight for the Troops 2" picks:
            Joey Beltran +184, 1u
            Tim Hague +215, 1u
            Matt Wiman, +144, 1u
            Amilcar Alves, +190, 1u
            Mike Guymon +108, 1u
            Waylon Lowe -109, 1.09u

Patrick Barry vs. Joey Beltran: Pat Barry is not a mixed martial artist. He is a kick boxer. He can't stop the takedown and he is helpless on the ground. Watch his fight with CroCop. Beltran is a good wrestler and he will destroy Barry. Why is Beltran the underdog here?

Matt Mitrione vs. Tim Hague: Hague may have an advantage on the ground here and he may very well win. His +215 odds look very tempting.

Cole Miller vs. Matt Wiman: I have no idea who will win this fight. It is very even. Wiman's +144 odds make him a +EV bet.

Amilcar Alves vs. Charlie Brenneman: Alves' better striking skills make him a live dog, so I'll take the +190 odds.

DaMarques Johnson vs. Michael Guymon: Guymon will use his superior strength and wrestling to grind out a win.

Waylon Lowe vs. Willamy "Chiquerim" Freire: Lowe should be able to take Freire down and use his superior wrestling to get the win.

5/6 dogs living on the edge. I like Alves as well, but I think Barry will take the fight against Beltran. You are right that Barry is not a mixed martial artist, but he is a kickboxer, Beltran has said that when he gets punched in the face he just wants to punch the other guy in the face, and any game plan basically goes out the window. I think both guys will be standing and Beltran will run out of gas in the 3rd round. Look to Barry to land a lot of leg kicks and set up the tko in the late 2nd/3rd round.

why are you on elder reem, esp at -160, to me this fight looks pretty even. Sefo could knock him out in the first round or elder reem could slap on sub, either way this fight is not going the distance and it might not even make it out of the first round, i think the better money is on the dog sefo or on a prop bet
