Yeah thats gonna be an exciting fight, but I would like to see Daley fight someone else first like Noons before he gets the Diaz fight. I really wanted to see Miller/Diaz though, after the brawl and all the talk. I like Miller, I dont think you would be bored for a second if you would spend a whole day with him .
I wish they would just cut fedor then he would have no where to go.

Jesus, their negotiating tactics are so annoying. Less than 6 hours and they already put the kibosh on the fight lol.

Well this is what the January StrikeForce ards looks like now
Champ Nick Diaz vs. Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos (for welterweight title)
Champ Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza vs. Robbie Lawler (for middleweight title)
Herschel Walker vs. Scott Carson
Roger Gracie vs. Trevor Prangley
I understand that StrikeForce needs to do cross division fights, but you have to make the right fights happen wehn you can. Diaz is either fighting a LW in Nonns or rumored fight with a MW in Miller. Now thy give him Santos instead of the fight that makes sense with Daley

Im very afraid because Roger has never taken a clean punch. and Prangley isn't a bum. This line should be reversed IMO.

Prangley isn't a KO machine either. He cut Yuki Kondo and KO'd 3 bums.

Roger @ -135 is the best bet on the card in my opinion.
Lawler by TKO @ +324 is also solid since its his only real route to victory.

Im going with a diaz/jacare parlay for this card.Diaz is facing a bum, and should be able to outclass him in every area.Jacare is world class athlete and should be able to get a sub or decision.

It is 5 minutes from my house, but I'd much rather go to work. I think the fight I would be most excited to see is an undercard women's fight. Really not worth taking a day off of work + tickets.

I'm considering a small action play with this parlay as well.
Though, I may hedge with a Lawler by TKO (+324) prop. Jacare's boxing has improved, so as long as he can keep his hands up defensively, and get this to the ground, he should take it. But... I seem to recall Lawler having decent TDD (looked decent against Sheilds' TD's before he got standing guillotined), so Jacare getting it to the mat may not be as easy as some think it will be. Also, I don't recall be too impressed with Jacare in his fights with both Villasenor and Kennedy. Might have to brush up on tape now that I've said that...

I had the same impression Educ8d, just wasn't terribly impressed with Jacare in those fights. Also improving boxing might not be the best thing in this fight, in the same way that it wasn't a good thing for Koshcheck in his fight against Paulo.
I think part of why he wasn't so impressive was that he was trying out his new boxing in those fights, if he looks to try his stand up against Lawler, he might get into real trouble.

I was considering this parlay as well. At first it looks real good. Now I'm getting that feeling of the Kingmo/Lashley parlay that was just too easy. Having said that, I am probably still going to do it.

No one else feeling as strongly about Roger Gracie as I am? His strategy vs Randleman was perfect, using his jab to keep him at bay patiently waiting for an opportunity for a take down. I believe he will enter this fight greatly improved and once he gets Prangly to the ground a submission will be inevitable.

Randleman has only 2 wins in his last 10. Gracie's lazy jabs, no head movement, and poor footwork is a recipe for disaster somewhere down the road.
He isn't that big of a favorite, and while Prang is a step up in competition its not a large one.
but I just can't be confident in Gracie without seeing him against a half decent striker, he looked like a potential punching bag out there in his last fight.

Santos is 18-13. How the hell does he deserve a title shot? He can't possibly be the #1 contender. I know records don't always tell the whole story like when someone loses fights on their way up. But this guy is 5-5 in his last ten and not a lot of impressive names on his win list. Would love to see the line come down on Diaz but suspect it will not, and I don't lay that kind of juice.
Souza/Lawler looks like it could be a more interesting fight. Can Souza avoid the big bomb? If he can, I see him either subbing Lawler or riding out out a decision win. I would lean souza inside the distance by submission, but hope Lawler catches him with another highlight reel KO.

5 rounds of avoiding a Jacare sub is going to be tough for Lawler.

Not if Jacare's lying in the cage unconscious in the first
(Though, I tend to agree)

Yeah, I'm with most everybody else, if Lawler doesn't get a KO in rounds 1 or 2 I don't see him winning.

I agree. Prangley just got subbed by Tim Kennedy, and then only beat Jardine by split decision. If Prangley doesn't have enough left to finish glass jaw Jardine then I don't think his stand up will be anything to overwhelm Gracie.

I played Gracie as well and have him in a couple parlays. I just dont feel it's as easy as you think it will be.
