Why did Josh Rosenthal stop that fight so soon?
I was about 20 more seconds away from winning my prop bet: Faber by death +2000

but seriously folks, I know the ref has a hard job there, but Faber had that choke in so deep it put his ass to sleep, Josh should have known better.

I was also amazed at the performances of several of the fighters tonight, Mighty Mouse in particular. That was a great fight, Page looked good and was throwing a lot of really impressive techniques at Mouse, but he really came through. I just hope we can get him at underdog price again next time, though I think that ship has sailed. Extremely disappointed in Fabiano, he mailed that fight in completely.

Yea Rosenthals shoulda known better, as soon as Mizugaki had his hands down not even touching Faber, was already a definitive sign he's out cold, then he still proceeds to slowly shake his hand to see if he is actually out.

tough call, he rolled onto his own stomach then passed out. Tough to see if he was out right away and you can't just pull Faber off, or else they'd cry over premature stoppage

It wasn't that bad. If he was really without air for too long his entire body would have gone into convultions.

It wasn't horrendous or anything, kind of thing that happens weekly at the local gym. Just Rosenthal seemed really lost on what to do in that crappy situation. It wasn't his finest moment, that is for sure.

Rosenthal has quickly garnered a reputation (deservedly so) as one of the top officials in the sport, but that was pretty bad. He checked him like 5 times while he was out cold. Interesting that Faber didn't feel him go limp and scream "he's out!". Tough sport. It happens.

Tough spot for Rosy w/ them against the cage.

i was honestly worried for the guy, that choke was on for too long, as soon as faber rolled on to his side he was out, which means mitzujaki was being choked for about 10 seconds while blacked out. very dangerous

but its not faber or josh's fault. when faber rolled over they were pinned into the cage very snuggly, and it was hard for josh to check on mitzujaki. because he was smushed up against the cage it was hard to tell if any body part was limb.

it's unfortunate they ended up in that position against the cage, but theres really nothing more that could have been done.
