    Shields over Kampmann
Shields is one of the premier wrestlers in MMA, as demonstrated by his outwrestling Henderson...
Kampmann's only chance is standup, where he has the advantage, but Shields has proven to have a chin, as he ate big right hands from Henderson...
Shields is a top 10 fighter in the world, VERY undervalued currently at around -180 to -210...
Shields will easily outwrestle Kampmann and get the submission, as his bjj is really good..

this fight is much like koscheck vs daley, aslong as Shields sticks to wrestling, he should win with ease..

Kampmann is one of the most over looked, and under rated fighters in the world.

Take a look at his record. He has been with some great BJJ practioners and has some quality submission wins.

His two losses in the UFC were KO's came about when he made the mistake of standing with Daley and facing a much larger Nate the Great.

Shields has terrible striking and his wrestling is better than average.
He might be able to grind out a UD but to over look Kampmann is a mistake.

Im with tyler durden here, Kampmann is really underrated and his stand up is really crisp and technical. His combos looked great against paulo thiago and really kept paolo at bay. He also showed how skilled he is on the ground in that fight and its already known that kampmann ain't no slouch in the sub game. Even if shields does get top position on the ground I can see kampmann being a threat off his back. I believe kampmann will control the pace of the fight and I could see him surprising people with a decision win. Also factor in this is shields UFC debut and UFC debuts don't go to well for most hyped big name fighters (think shogun).

I see this fight going something like the Jason Miller vs Jake Shields fight, and there were plenty of opportunities for Jason to finish that fight. He took Jake down, took his back, and had him in some other bad spots. This by no means at all will be a cake walk for Jake Shields. Jake will probably win this by UD, but as was stated above he shouldn't be overlooking Kampmann.

Then again Jake Shields can now use elbows which is going to improve his game immensely.

I do agree kampmann is a dangerous fighter, both standing and on the ground.... but as is the case, when you have a dominant wrestler, especially in a 3 round fight, he can get the lay and pray decision....

I do think shields will finish kampmann but a lay and pray decision for jake could easily result...

expect big things from shields in the UFC, hes making huge improvements all the time, especially in his standup... not that hes gonna KO kampmann, but i expect him to be adequate enough that he will be strong defensively and not get KO'd..

my bottom line: good value in the shields line

I think both guys are actually underrated. Kampmann is no Paul Daley, he is a much more well rounded fighter imo. Whereas, I think Shields grapping is still underrated despite his success. The biggest indication imo comes from the comments from his own camp. I feel like the Diaz brothers, Melendez are always commenting on how dominant he is. An example is Josh Thomson after his fight with JZ when he was asked about the guilitine. He responded, well, ive been in a Jake Shieds guillitine. Like Jake Shields is the barometer for a finishing guillitine.

Anyway, Kampmann could certaintly hurt Shields on feet, but I expect Shields to impose his will like he does on everyone else he fights. I think with the line dropping, this may be getting cose to play range.

scares me that shields had to cut 13 pounds on the last day to make weight. i know these guys are professional and well versed in this part of their sport but damn that seems like a lot.....
