Jim Wallhead -150 v. Ryan Thomas
Suprised this line has dropped. Maybe it has to do with the travel for Wallhead, only his second fight state side. Anyone know when he got here?

Wallhead seems to have better, crisper standup. And, while Thomas has a wrestling backround, he seems sloppy in his transitions on the ground. In both UFC fights he left arms out during transitions on the ground, if I recall correctly.

Also, I thought Thomas would use his wrestling background and force Askren to fight standing. While I didnt think he would be able to stuff every takedown, I did not expect him to continue to grapple Askren when there was oppurtunities to get up in the fight. You have to question Thomas' mental composure there.

I am about to pull the trigger on Wallhead. This is a huge fight for him and would expect to see him 100% focused.

Anyone any insight here? Anyone taking Thomas?

Bellator has had some of the strangest late line movement..I wouldn't worry too much about it

    I played Wallhead at -150

I took Wallhead -150 at Bookmaker. I wonder if bestfightodds was accurate. Said that Wallhead went down to EVEN prior to going back to -155.

I got tape delay here. MSG+ usually carries live, but has Kansas - KState for some reason.

I am gonna be pissed if next weeks show is not live here.

I noticed that as well, I think it was just an error on bestfightodds part

where are you finding the results at, sherdog usually has a live chat for the event but it looks like they may have done away with it.

                  Round 1
Wallhead looks light on his feet, hopping around while Thomas has his feet planted well and plods forward. Wallhead throws a few straight punches and Thomas backs him up with a combination of his own that ends with a body kick. Wallhead pressures Thomas against the cage with a single underhook, looking for a takedown. He dips Thomas but can’t complete the attempt. Wallhead backs off and returns to a striking match. Thomas is telegraphing uppercuts and Wallhead cuts him off with a left-right combination which nearly drops him. Thomas stutters backward but catches himself as the two fighters turn it into a slugfest. Wallhead is trying to clinch and Thomas is displaying some good dirty boxing by not giving up the underhooks and hammering Wallhead with hard punches to back him up whenever possible. The fighters disengage from the clinch and Thomas goes off with his legs, landing low and high kicks at will, then adding in a straighy right hand for good measure. Wallhead not liking the snap on those kicks, once again pressures Thomas against the fence. Thomas works out of the position quickly and is back to the center of the cage.
Thomas is unpredictable, throwing body punches followed by lefthooks and spinning back kicks. Thomas misses with his home run swings, but Wallhead is definitely feeling the power of his punches as he clinches up every time Thomas lands two or more consecutive strikes.
                  Round 2

Wallhead starts the round with leg kicks, but they not landing nearly as hard as Thomas leg kicks in Round 1. Wallhead throws a left-right combo and Thomas answers back with a straight left and a body kick. No one seems interested in a takedown here as Wallhead drops Thomas to a knee with another sharply-landed leg kick. Thomas dives forward for a single leg takedown but falls short and is forced to stand back up before he takes some punishment for his mistake. Wallhead is letting his hands go landing 3 to 4 punch combinations and backs Thomas up to the fence. Wallhead backs off to conserve his energy and Thomas circles out to regain some ring control. The pair is back to standing and striking, throwing punches in bunches but never forgetting about the leg kicks. Both men land a few shots and Thomas drops to a knee for another failed takedown attempt. As Thomas stands up, Wallhead takes advantage and pressures him against the fence to land a body shot, but Thomas backs him off with a kick to the midsection. Thomas shoots again, but this time Wallhead sprawls and is first to return to his feet. Thomas is happy to lay back and wave Wallhead to the mat, but he’s more comfortable on his feet and waits for Thomas to stand. Wallhead works Thomas up against the fence again and is sneaking in left hooks to the chin of Thomas as he’s secured a single underhook on the right and works to gain the other.
                  Round 3

Wallhead opens up the round missing with a leg kick and follows up with a pair of punches. They offesive attack doesn’t find its target. Thomas responds and misses high with a head kick. Thomas then tries a straight right, but it comes up short followed by a high knee which just misses Wallhead. Thomas is throwing straight jabs and crosses, looking to keep Wallhead on the end of his punches. Wallhead is looking for an opening to step in and end the fight with one hard punch. Thomas is still using body kicks to pick up points and wear down Wallhead, but can’t seem to land consecutive strikes. Thomas lands a body kick as Wallhead steps in for a punch, then pulls guard to finally take the fight to the mat. Wallhead’s got his head trapped but his neck out of danger. Wallhead frees his head and begins punching Thomas’ ribs from inside an open guard. Wallhead is inactive for a moment, but just when it looks like he’s not doing much, postures up and lands a sharp elbow to the chin of Thomas. Wallhead goes back to beating on Thomas’ ribs at a slow pace. Wallhead is bleeding but Thomas looks gassed out. With just under 10 seconds left, Thomas tries to work a rubber guard in search of a last second submission, but Wallhead postures up, lands one more punch on Thomas and then stands up completely with his arms raised in triumph…a good two seconds before the final bell.

Jim Wallhead def. Ryan Thomas by Unanimous Decision (29-28,29-28, 29-28).
