penn's biggest issue in the past has always seemed to be cardio, his resurrgence in the 155 division has given a better sense to training and conditioning. in that division he has been able to sit in the pocket fearless and just mustard the jab and counters. with no fear of being taking down or rocked he could just be patient and set his pace. edgar changed that because he has "feet" he is able to do exactly what is needed to beat penn, MOVE. the take downs he landed are a result of movement, speed and striking. his striking combined with his speed and angles set up the takedowns. ihate that penn looks like a one trick pony, he evolved this pocket boxing but hasn't done nothing else, against hughes it should work.

hughes has crappy boxing period. he has little to no feet and he basically can only in my opinion shoot straight in or land a takedown from the clinch. on the ground penn hopefully can hold his own this time as i suspect is cardio will be in check. howver penn still has great balance and flexability and still hits hard and straight, penn should be able to knock hughes around before being put down if he ever gets down.

penn has always seemed a little flaky to me, never sure when he is truly hungry. half way through the 1st, actually after the 2nd take down in edgar-penn 2 he flat gave up, so i hope his pride and head is in check here. if he had fought strong to the end i would've placed more down on this fight. i see how penn could win and not sure i see how hughes does at this time in there very old careers.

Keep up the good work dream! I have went back and forth on the Penn/Hughes fight in my head many times. Still havent come to a conclusion yet. Im quite surprised that the line has moved this much from the opener. I didnt expect a lot of money to come in early on Penn in this one.

seriously i was floored when he opened dog, hughes hasn't really beat anyone special or younger and his contract was up he looked like he was slowing right into retirement, penn on the other hand has been fighting and training for top talent for years. his weight is not an issue at WW and i think at best this should be an opened pick'em, with penn getting the fav swift as fight nears. honestly they both seem so old, predictable and tired to me that i'm not looking forward to this one at all

              thx for the comments sir.

I don't think Penn has what it takes to win against Hughes this time around. Hughes has been looking real good lately.

well u could be right. i liked the way penn can stalk and back people up when he wants, he is strong and aggressive, vs. edgar just wrong plan but against hughes should work, hughes fight against renzo was horrible but thats was renzo's fault and hughes surprized me against almeida. i just hope its a great fight.
