    Has anyone noticed...
...that Bruce Buffer doesn't read the judges names anymore when announcing the decision? The UFC must be ashamed of their judges. One in particular stands out: Cecil Peoples.

We already know that Cecil Peoples scored the Dunham-Sherk fight 29-28 for Sherk. There is little doubt that he was also behind the 30-27 scores in the Stephens-Guillard and Bader-Nogueira fight. It disgusts me.

How is he still employed by the Nevada State Athletic Commission? In my paranoid mind, I'm convinced that he is corrupt and takes a lot of bribes. He is a travesty of a judge and his decisions make a mockery of the UFC.

The UFC may not have control over who the judges are, but they can damn well read the names of the judges when the decisions are announced, and they should. I want these morons held accountable.

I always thought the UFC had nothing to do with the judging, strictly State decisions. Here lies the problem. Anything that is part of a bueracracy will be weak as there is no incentive to be stronger, no competition.

I believe Peoples is primarily a California judge. Why any other State would employ him just goes to show how far these Commissions have their heads up their own asses.

You could probably right your State athletic commission and bitch, but it probably wont do any good.

However, I do wonder why the UFC hasn't gone to the athletic commissions and pushed for some changes though. And what was Peoples doing in Abu Dahbi???

Much like the fighters have evolved from being single disciplined fighters to true mixed-martial artists, I believe that we'll eventually see some strides in the judging. It can't get can't remarkably worse... can it?

By the way, Evan Dunham is a beast. He needs a title shot coming off that loss. Strikeforce style!

Peoples was a kickboxer and kenpo/karate expert as well I believe, I would think its slightly naive to not think that Cecil is bias towards certain fighters as well due to his connections through coaching kickboxing.

I didn't notice that. If the UFC was actually pissed off, that's quite a statement to avoid announcing the judges names.

It doesn't matter if the judges are called out. Most judges will admit to how they scored the fight anyways and aren't ashamed or embarrassed by the decisions they give at all. Since there are no consequences it makes no difference to them and whatever money they make from brides or whatever is just a bonus to them.

He has been around forever and there is no true set in stone way to judge. Plus the judges can't see everything that is going while on the ground, like they can stand up and take downs. They need to install monitors for the judges also they need to come up with a blue print for scoring universally across the MMA. That would help but it is what it is. No matter if the judging is bad or good someone will always be upset with the outcome.

Some judges have to be bought for sure. I don't think they have any shame or care if they screw up a decision. Any judge that even remotely cared would learn how to do their job. They have the easiest job in the world. Sit down front row and watch fights we all pay to see. Also a lot of fighters know the judges are terrible so they try to "steal victories" at the end of fights by acting like they won.

I disagree. Yes, there are some fights that are so close that they can be scored either way, and it's natural that some people will be upset by the outcome. Those cases are the exceptions, and I'm not talking about them. Scoring Guillard-Stephens 30-27 for Guillard, or Bader-Nogueira 30-27 for Bader, or Sherk-Dunham 29-28 for Dunham, these are not cases of "well everyone has their opinion and nothing is set in stone." These are cases that are far more clear cut, where there is a right and a wrong based on the scoring criteria, and in all three cases above the judges were wrong.

The fact that he has been around forever only adds to the travesty.

I agree when the decision is so obvious to everyone how do the judges get it wrong time and time again. There's no excuse for that.
